The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighbourhood is packed with colourful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are
visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
We are due two stay with you in September this year for 10 nights as your hotel is one of the closest to our daughter and family who live on Marine Parade Road, we have booked a superior room with window and would request one at the back if possible as I am a light sleeper so road noise may be an issue. If your hotel is suitable for our stay we could be looking to return for 3 weeks stay in December 2015.
