I have spent at least 4 stays at Wink over the past 5 years. Long stay and short stay. My fellow guests came from all over including China, Malaysia, South Korea and Bali. The canteen made it impossible not to get to know some very interesting travellers. I'm Irish so this was mind expanding. I spent 2 Christmases in Singapore...

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. I find this hotel is nice and very close to the MRT station. I think the overall performance is good of this hotel. But I need to walk to 3rd floor for washroom and shower. It is a bit inconvenience. Also, there is no shower gel and shampoo provided in the shower...

Hi Michael, Thanks for taking time to write. Sorry you found a few things wanting in your experience. We chose to locate Wink in a conserved and historical Chinatown shophouse to let guests have a little more of the local flavors. Unfortunately, one trade-off is such conserved buildings are under strict regulations on where we can locate certain amenities like...

Wink is located in the centre of Chinatown, an ideal base for exploring the city. Further, it is a very clean hostel: toilets, showers, living spaces, everything is meticulous kept clean. Breakfast is included. Wifi is good. Towels for hire. We slept in the double bed dorm (SD 90) and in the normal dorm (SD 50). Both rooms looked very...

Wink Hostel was a nice hostel. Great beds and clean big bathrooms. Doorm with A/C. The included breakfast (toast and cereal) was decent. We found that the prize was high for a dorm room, but maybe that is just how Singapore is. We couldn't check in and get to our dorm until 3 pm. That was very annoying after traveling...

Hi Emmarh93, Thanks for your comments. Yes - Singapore is very expensive for accommodations. Amongst hostels, Wink is not the most expensive by a margin. Amongst hostels, however, we believe we provide the best value! On a communal space to bed ratio, we remain unmatched; and on a privacy/security comparison, we believe our investments in 24 hours service, SmartCard door...

I stayed here for three nights at the end of my 2 month trip around Asia. The rooms and bathrooms were amazingly clean, breakfast was good, location was perfect - just round the corner from the nearest MRT station, and staff were more than helpful. By this point in my trip, I was travelling by myself so assumed I would...

Please do not let the word hostel deceiving you because quality does not always equal to the price that you pay. For me, the price WH offers is very reasonable, given Singapore's living condition and what hotel offered you. What I liked most about Wink hostel is the cleanliness and how comfortable the bed is !! Yes, if I could,...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
