Service was excellent- friendly, attentive, warm and go out of their way to make our stay memorable. Want to recognise in particular Phoo at front desk, Gerald at communication and Nadi at Dolcetto. Excellent attitude and service at their hearts - such staff are a real asset, please look after them. Though the premise was old, maintenance was very good. Room are still comfortable and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Very sad to see the Regent brand going as we have associated this brand for more than 3 decades in Singapore. It has a fantastic brand with lots of good will. I sincerely hope Conrad keeps up with its tradition and soul of Regent.
Stayed for a week while in Singapore. Great location in a quieter part just a short walk to Orchard Rd. Nice little deli/pastry shop downstairs for a quick bite. Manhattan Bar had some fantastic cocktails. Gentlemen at the front door were always very welcoming going in and out of the building. Lovely stay!!
Stayed there under the Super Foodie Staycation over the recent Christmas weekend. This was a stay package that I bought in 2020 during the pandemic. While my previous stay in October was less ideal but with great service recovery, this stay really addressed many issues and made it really memorable. We were given many treats, such as christmas chocolates, goodies and personalised cards from the various teams; the concierge, guest experience and the Club Lounge Team. Room wise, while I was a little bummed that it was the same room again (1005), they took the feedback seriously and made adjustment to make the stay better. Other than that, I think the Regent Club team was what it made the stay from good to impeccable. We were treated with Afternoon tea and Evening Cocktails for both days. It was truly amazing from the team, who actually recognised our faces and names and will make efforts to make the experience better. For instance, realising that my partner is absent for evening cocktails, he proactively offered to make arrangements and allowed an extended 9PM check out. The team also offered drink recommendations throughout the day, which shows excellence in the service. Breakfast at Basilico is also of very, very good quality. I hope the team will remain as it transits to Conrad Singapore Orchard in 2024! …
Managed to have my Christmas Staycation @ Regent before it rename After all this while when I was a kid I was hoping to stay at Regent during Christmas. The overall experience I could say was a little disappointed. 1. bedside table plug is not working 2. No Small plates 3. Bed is very stiff 4. No leg rest But the worse thing was the breakfast as due to high occupancy the hotel schedule the breakfast for my first day to the ballroom and after a couple had finish their breakfast. It took about 15 - 20 mins for someone to automatic come and clean the tables and plates. There is even one chef who even went out to serve this particular guest by serving food to the guest. Which I think is not very fair for other guest. Even if the guest is a VVIP the hotel should not practice favourism or double standard. As the breakfast is buffet and if it is still covid I can fully understand but this is not the case from what I observed. Overall decor is highly commendable for the Festive Season. Manage to brought a cake from the bakery and taste is awesome. It would be great if they have more choices of logcake. …
Lacklustre Service. Average club lounge offerings. Checking out later today but felt compelled to write this review while I'm having high tea at the Club Lounge. Have always held high regard in the service here but was sorely disappointed. Not sure if it was due to the rebranding exercise taking place, staff generally had that "I don't care atttitude". During breakfast service this morning, it seems like the staff I have encountered did not know how to manage food allergies or simply can't be bothered. Informed the chef at noodle station about my son's allergies and wanted to confirm the ingredients but the chef serving the food seemed to be really irritated by the request from his replies. Hence, approached another staff to confirm what was safe for him to take but was given very generic replies. So after sharing my concerns again, staff mentioned he will check with the chef and will come back to me. A moment later, came back with some pastries and was told that everything was OK for him at the local section. So I had to again check, what is actually OK for him? Sensing that I was quite stressed out by this, (which he actually articulated to me that I appeared stressed), he took the initiative to pick out the items that were deemed safe for my son. At least he was helpful, but the entire experience should not have happened at a 5 star hotel. Club lounge food offerings was really average.. they did not have mocha nor hot chocolate. Manage to have 1 bottle of perrier A on the first day and that was it - there was no replenishment. Normally for club lounge in other 5 star hotels, they would have prepared in advance when informed of food allergies, but I guess things are handled a little different over here. …
Managed to stay here in Regent before it converts to Conrad Orchard. + Club room is spacious with decently sized twin beds and large smart TV + Lounge opens from 11am, offers basic high-tea (small sandwiches and cakes) and evening hors d'oeuvre and alcoholic drinks (good selection) + Breakfast at Basilico had a nice selection - Dated furnishing, the hotel really showed its age, although still well-maintained at some areas - Not many electronic plugs - Location is not near popular places, have to take private or public transport to orchard road. As this was a staycation, we mainly stayed within the hotel vicinity and enjoyed the club room benefits. We find it a better experience with club room.
Pretty average and somewhat disappointing experiences. Room and general public facilities looked old and tired. Bed comfort was very good though. Most staff members were good with some (the young Chinese guy at check in and two ladies at Tea Lounge) were excellent. Don’t mind the hotel room being old and bathroom was steamy, but I do mind about the food quality. Tried buffet high tea at Tea lounge, pretty mediocre compared to other 5 star hotels nearby. The worst and most disappointing perhaps is the buffet breakfast each day, although most staff were nice. The selection of foods and the foods quality, sadly speaking, was the worst that I had tried at a hotel of such caliber. On the superficial appearances, there seemed to have “lots” of foods, but when looking closely, most stations were stocked with lower grade foods. The Western cooked breakfast selections and pastries were still somewhat adequate. But the Asian food selections, sadly speaking, were very limited and low grade. The fresh cut fruits were also poor in quality and some tasted completely off on one occasion. Let the staff know and they did replace with more eatable ones. The cheeses tasted so “industrial quality” and condiments were lower grades. Breakfast teas were all pre-made in pots and left to become cold waiting to be brought to guests table. Initially thought the COVID had caused some cost cutting measures taken to reduce the food selections and qualities at buffet breakfast at this hotel. If that is the reason, I can understand and accept things to be of lower quality until business picks up again for hotels / hospitality establishments. But when staying at other similar 5 star hotels in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur after The Regent stay, and having breakfasts at these hotels, it made The Regent buffet breakfast experiences even much much much worse in comparison. It is still a 5-star hotel, but a 3 star max experiences.…
It’s an older hotel that’s about to be rebranded as a Conrad. Rooms are spacious but dated (as is the rest of the hotel) Pool facilities need to be upgraded. Breakfast was tasty and the service in the restaurant was attentive. Location is just at the end of orchard road and there are several bus tops nearby. Although it’s not the most convenient if you want to explore downtown SG
The ambiance is so nice and welcoming . The staff was so accommodating and service is fast. The desserts were very nice and a lot of variety to choose. We had a great time enjoying thr ambience. Special mention to Ms. Koh for so accommodating.
Elaine and team provided great service! Cozy environment and good food! Wide tea selection. Ice chocolate drink was fantastic. Our team enjoyed the high tea event. Spotlight a little warm. Probably stronger air con.
