In an old building very close to the Chinatown Complex, Cultural Centre, and MRT. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms are clean and straightforward and the staff very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of Feb. Great location, 5 minute walk from the MRT station which can literally take you anywhere in Singapore! Room was on the slightly smaller side, but it wasn't an issue. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Free WiFi was available which was really handy. Would stay again.

I booked this hotel for one night after a cruise ship vacation. The hotel was as advertised. The room was small, simple, clean, and inexpensive, in a good location right in the heart of Chinatown. Staff was efficient. The bathroom was spare--one very small shelf for toiletries, and a "full room" shower with curtain but without a lip, meaning that...

This hotel is perfectly located, close to Chinatown, Bar Street and the Subway system. Accommodation is pricey in Singapore so this is a very fairly priced place. The rooms are quite small and it isn't a luxury hotel by any means however, you're not going to be in your room much in Singapore anyway. Air con worked well, rooms were...

Bigger than most budget rooms here and not a "by the hour" hotel. We were on the first floor, stayed three nights after spending one at the place down the street. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable as were the bedding and towels. The staff was excellent, very helpful. They loaned us adapters so we could plug...

We came to Singapore back in September last year for 2 nights, but our initial thought was finding a centrally located hotel for good value and we felt this was achieved with the Chinatown Hotel. A bit of research was done prior to our visit, and resulted in many expensive hotels that we didn't feel neccesary especially for only 2...

Chinatown Hotel is a part of the protected heritage listed enclave. No more than 3-4 stories high-space is at a premium. My twin bed room was a similar size to a cruise liner statesroom. We wanted no more than a centralised cool comfortable clean place to sleep, store belongings, bring back takeaway food to eat & to launch ourselves whether...

Fantastic location in Chinatown. The staff is helpful. Very simple accommodation. If you're looking for certain perks other than a clean room, towels, and bathroom, this may not be your kind of place. The bathroom is lacking a more functional layout. Don't keep anything in there when you shower as it can easily get wet. There is a curtain, but...

The hotel is located in Chinatown locality....The Outram Park MRT Station is the nearest metro station. Take the exit at New Bridge Road. The staffs are not that friendly...Very cold in their behavior.... The rooms are very small...Especially the bathrooms...We booked a Deluxe double room...If you are to the fatter side, it is not recommended at all....Not worth the money...There...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.

“If you are determined to stay here, and it suits some of course, then ask for a back room as it will be for sure quieter than one over the front where from experience of the area I know it gets quite noisy and raucous on the social scene and cars although it is quite a narrow road width.”
