This is one of my favourite hostels I've ever stayed at in the whole South East Asia! The dorm rooms are pretty big and everything is clean. It's well used and it is a hostel so don't except luxury. But what got the is the atmosphere! The people working there are so much fun and so friendly, the play games...

DO NOT STAY HERE. This hostel is absolutely disgusting. I have been backpacking all over the world for one year and I have never felt this strongly about a hostel before. This hostel is absolutely TEAMING with bed bugs. They are EVERYWHERE. I found dead bugs all over every single bed in my 12 bed dorm. There were blood stains...

The hostel is cheap. Location is near to public transport. Simple self service breakfast is provided. The common area is quite rundown. Cleanliness of the bed is NOT ACCEPTABLE and HORRIBLE, BED BUGS!! The owner seriously need to review their cleaning process for the beds, I would not recommend anyone to stay unless there is improvement on the bed cleanliness.

The hostel is about 8 minutes by foot from Bugis station, a centrally-located train station which is close to a lot of shopping, and by shopping, I am talking about mid-range to budget and even very cheap deals. Everytime I visit Singapore, I always try to drop by Bugis because it's the place to find really cheap items especially if...

It's a strategic place to stay in Bugis area. Near a lot of restaurants and famous spot like Haji Lane, Sultan Mosque, Kampong Glam. 10min walk from Bugis...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As cliché as that sounds, Shophouse was started by a couple of best friends, backpackers who couldn't travel the world (yet) and wanted to bring it to them instead. So grab us if you have a minute to spare, we all have a wanderlust tale we'd love to hear or share. Less than 30 minutes from Changi International Airport, The Shophouse is located at Arab Street, a heritage area famous for its heady mix of arts, culture, dining and fashion. A 5-minute walk from Bugis MRT Station, Nicoll Highway MRT Station or Golden Mile Bus Complex, Shophouse combines affordability, comfort and convenience in a charming historical building. ... more   less
