A small hotel in brilliant position - 2 minutes from Rocher MRT stop, in Little India. The managers/owner couldn't be more accommodating. Free WiFi and soft drinks. Coffee machine/DVD/I Pod docking station in all rooms. Swimming pool [narrow but good]. little roof garden. Rooms vary in size from tiny to decent size. Some, ground floor, have small ceiling windows. Value...

This hotel is tucked away on back streets, but provides easy access to the Metro and Little India, so despite looking like it's in a run-down backstreet, it is very well located. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, small (as most tend to be in Singapore, outside the big name hotels), and free soft drinks were very handy....

I liked this place to stay because I noticed that this hotel is at perfect location where we can go anywhere we want. Beautiful furniture is there for guests and I found it reasonable too. And I noticed there is big and humble staff for our services like welcoming and room service..

The Daulat hotel was part of your trip <honeymoon> 2 days in Singapore. The team was very welcoming, and guest oriented. Really appreciated. the hotel overall is good. And the swimming pool outside is just Heaven. My only negative point will be the interior bedroom with no natural light, really small for 2 people and dark for 2 nights stay...

Spent a couple of nights at the Daulat as a stopover on the way home. It worked well. Convenient enough to walk to town and the markets, but also easy enough to get to the subway so as to get further afield. The room was on the cheaper end of prices in Singapore, but was still of sufficient quality. Being...

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.

Opening its doors for the first time, The Daulat is a boutique hotel, which caters to both business and leisure travelers with an amalgamation of modern contemporary design and a rich architectural history. With an emblematic interior design across all its 16 rooms, it aspires to accommodate our guests with a unique experience during their stay. The Daulat is located less than 500 meters from Little India MRT station and resides in the heart of Singapore’s foremost Indian enclave. In the initial plans of Singapore by Raffles which, was originally a division of colonial Singapore where Indian immigrants would reside under the British policy of ethnic segregation. The district eventually flourished and evolved to become, what is now known as Little India. Under the British colonial rule the architecture of the buildings then were symbolic of the British influence. The buildings were characteristically known as shophouses. Retailers ran their business from the first floor and their living quarters was the floors above the shop. These designs of the shophouses in Little India range from the Early 1840 to 1900.The fusion of a rich historical installation with modern contemporary facilities and design is what The Daulat cites as general theme for their guests. ... more   less
