My wife and I had an excellent stay at Oasia Downtown in one of the club rooms. The staff were very professional and warm, making it a very relaxing getaway in Singapore. In particular Mahalia and Marnie were both exceptional and made it a very comfortable stay.
After a 3 night stay at a hotel in Marina Bay we moved to Oasia Downtown for a 7 night stay in a different area. We are so glad we did. It is in an amazing location. Tanjong Pagar still has lots of the old shop houses and many of these are now restaurants etc (Japanese/Korean/Italian/Mexican etc). These restaurants are within 1 to 10 mins walk of the hotel along Tanjong Pagar Rd. In front of the hotel is a little park where locals are walking their dogs and sitting in 4 person swing chairs having a chat, reading a book, etc. Across the rd from the little park is the train station and Guoco Tower that has numerous food outlets - from bakeries through to sit down restaurants. Getting on the train is less than 5 mins from leaving your hotel as just across the rd and down 2 sets of escalators to platform unlike Marina Bay area where you can walk enormous distances through shopping malls and underground link malls to get from the hotel to train. In addition to eating options on Tanjong Pagar rd and in Guoco Tower you have - 10 min walk to Chinatown Food Centre - which we did initially on a Chinatown Food tour with Indie Singapore (highly recommend) but then went back to try more things including the s$3.50 Michelin starred Chicken rice. - Lau Pa Sat - for amazing satay at night - less than 10 minutes walk from hotel - and many other food options day and night - Maxwell Food Centre is 5 mins walk away - more of a lunch destination - many trendy cafes, restaurants and bars 10 mins walk away in Telok Ayer Tanjong Pagar is on the East West line so you can get the train directly to Bugis (where we did another highly recommended walking tour with IndieSingapore), Boon Lay (for a local shopping experience or to get bus to Bird Park), City Hall (for Marina Bay area) and many other places. This hotel is not 5 star but it is absolutely lovely. We had a Club Room that gave us access to the level 21 Club floor for breakfast, coffee/softdrinks and light snacks during day and then canapes/alcoholic drinks 6-8pm. Each evening there was a cocktail of the day for those that wanted alcohol. The coffee was excellent. The breakfast was not amazing but it was ok - and far more enjoyable than the absolutely chaotic experience we had in our higher rated Marina Bay hotel where we stayed for 3 nights before Oasia Downtown. The greenery growing on the building is gorgeous - as are the large outdoor spaces on level 12, 21 and 27. On 21 there is an air conditioned indoor space for Club guests for eating, drinking or just relaxing - but also plenty of outdoor seating (as long as don't take glasses, plates etc near pool). The design of the outdoor space meant that we would often return to the hotel for a rest in the middle of the day when it is really hot and find a shady spot on level 21 that had a cool breeze and enjoy some light snacks (very good little cupcakes often during the day). The service is not 5 star but it is very friendly. We did not have any complaint about any of the staff as all made an effort to be friendly. Our first hotel in Marina Bay was more highly rated but there was zero warmth from the staff. A special mention to Bhawna on the club floor who was particularly friendly - but really all the staff were. Only thing we didn't like were the glass panels in the bathroom - not see through as were semi opaque - but not as private as traditional walls. The only other downside is needing to use multiple lifts to get to your room.- but it gives you the chance to walk through a gorgeous green covered outdoor space on your way to the lift to your room floor so not really a big negative. We would definately stay here again.…
A very good place to stay in Singapore, very close to Chinatown and the MRT. All the staff is very kind, from the lobby team to the Club team. My room was perfect, very quiet, and the bed very comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast and evening cocktails in front of swimming pool at the 21 level. Good value for this hotel.
Don’t be fooled by the beautiful exterior. The hotel needs some serious maintenance. Poor quality of furnishings and furniture is already obvious after only 7 years. We’ve stayed in hotels around TJP every year for over 10 yrs, and have never felt this disappointed with our accommodation. We booked 3 rooms, and all were of the same poor standard. Be aware the infinity pool pictured is only available if you book a club room.
Oasia was the best place to stay in Singapore, with great location, spacious room and optimal service. The architecture of the building itself is iconic. It was definitely worth it to upgrade to Club room as this is what made it special, with access to free food/drinks and private pool with port view. A kind thank you to the staff, especially Adib from the concierge team for his help and care, and Sathis for his professionalism. Definitely recommended!
Good experience and enjoyable trip in Singapore due to CUCA NOEL's very kind service at Oasia hotel downtown. When I faced some kind of matter about lending bicycle and exchanging money, He informed me of detailed guide. Thank you and see you next time.
I had a wonderful stay. Lucas and Adib from the first floor counter helped me with my self planned trips and recommended some good places to visit. It was very helpful especially when they told me how i can use the metro or go around by bike. They just came up to me and asked where i went already and i gave some tipps, that was very important because i was travelling solo.
We chose this hotel with thr club room and it was a great decision. Enjoyed all the perks of being a club member with the exclusive access to amazing pool and complemenary snacks all day. The staff was really friendly and made sure you have a great experience.
Absolutely superb stay in the Club level of this hotel. I eagerly hope to be able to return again soon, as the staff and experience were both top-level. It is easy for the hotel to feel like home after only a couple of days.
The best with this hotel is its location and very helpful staff, special thanks to concierge Ridz. He provided very good service, and always with a smile. Reception is located on the 12th floor and surrounded by an open air lounge area. Our room was quite small, and the King size bed did not give much room to move around. The bathroom was OK in size, but the shower sucked, water pressure below all criticism! Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the 1st floor of the building. This restaurant also serves at other times, but you can not put the charges to your room as it is not owned by the hotel.
