The whole place was quaint. Loved it. The bathrooms where great. Almost everything i would have to buy is near the place. Just the thing that could be improved would be the wifi but other than that it was amazing. I would come again to this hostel.

The staff is incredible. When they're not busy they're always hanging out with guests. In fact, Cristobal just finished his shift and decided to show us around the less touristy parts of the city. He gave us great advice on where to go in the city and how to get there. The hostel itself is homey, and the two court...

Stayed for only one night and that was enough. We arrived and were met by the most unfriendly and rude staff member. She simply did not want to be there and made us feel unwelcome the whole time. Very unhelpful when we asked about the wifi not working and she replied 'yea that happens'...meaning it didn't work the entire time...

I can't recommend this hostel. I must state that I never stayed at Ecohostel but communicated with the staff only. I had been searching for a hostel to stay at for 1 week as I settle in for an international program that I'm participating in and I found Ecohostel to have reasonable prices with decent reviews. I first found the...

This hostel had very clean bathrooms and excellent jam at breakfast. And that is the end of the positive notes... Very thin/nonexistent walls makes noise an issue. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. And the energy of the whole place was very low, but that could change as the guests turn over.... If you're looking for a good place in Santiago,...

We enjoyed our stay at this hostel. Great serve yourself breakfast! Used kitchen to cook dinner and save money. Near big supermarket. Computer in reception to use. Wifi good though a shame it didn't reach the room. We used the facilities after we checked out while we waited for a night bus. I would just recommend that they try to...

Stayed here for three nights in a great double upstairs. Large room with a small balcony. Staff were friendly and happy to help. You are provided a great breakfast each day (including biscuits!) Has a nice outdoor area and a recycling system. It is an old building and the floorboards make a lot of noise. It didn't bother us but...

The Ecohostel at first time could appear not that good, as I could read in some opinions. When I arrived, later at night, I didn't like the appearance of the hostel. But I was tired and get to my bed after a shower. The next morning, I could see with a different perspective and get a totally different opinion. The...

We stayed here at the end of a tour through South america. Before we arrived in santiago, we tried to book some extra nights at the hostel but they didn't have enough room for us. We therefore also booked elsewhere for a couple of nights. When we got there, we couldn't be more pleased that we could leave and go...

“Some doubles upstairs have large opening doors and a balcony. Some of the rooms (doubles and dorms) don't have any windows at all.”

“privates upstairs are better….dorms downstairs are windowless and a bit depressing”

“The privates upstairs are great, the front room even has a balcony. The dorm downstairs is a little dark and right off the main room, but I didn't have a problem with noise while I was there since most people seem to hang out in the courtyards rather than inside.”

“Downstairs rooms can be a bit noisy and get the smells from the kitchen”

“As the floors are wooden I would recommend a room upstairs (Not sure if dorms are upstairs) so that as people arrive/leave they are not walking past room.”
