Simply have not had a better breakfast at any other hostel and I doubt that I ever will. Check out the pic. Also, the staff were awesome. I walked to the local fruit and veggie market with Cris and Gore and they shared tons of fascinating stories along the way. Fran was so welcoming when I first arrived, and Andy...

Given that chile is one of the most expensive South American countries to visit, you really get your value for money at don Santiago hostel. It is located close to the metro, serves great breakfast and the staff are always happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend staying here for a few days if you are passing through Santiago Sabrina

We only stayed here for 1 night but we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is delicious and healthy and the common area is very cozy. Also the staff was very friendly. Andrea and another girl helped us well and even ordered cheap but delicious sushi for us! The only downside is that the place is quite small: two bathrooms...

Don Santiago Hostel is a lovely hostel in a good location, but what makes it special is the attention that the staff give to the guests. They go out of their way to help in everything you need. The common area is very homey, with a guitar and electric piano, and the wifi is the best I've seen in any...

Don Santiago is easy to access, a short walk from the airport bus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a simple omelette, bread and vegetables. Very tasty. The rooms need a fresh coat of paint and a few minor repairs but otherwise basic and comfortable. The place also has a warm shower, and a little courtyard...

This hostel is absolutely amazing! Made me change my mind to stay for a little longer in Santiago. The Personal is awesome, really nice and very social. You'll never feel alone and you always get to know people. I definitely recommend it! Makes you feel like home! I already miss Tomás, he is the best!

Really nice and chilled hostel with super friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and the lounge area is great to relax after a long day in Santiago. Amazing, full breakfast is a huge plus and fills you up for a day exploring the city. There's a metro station and supermarket all within walking distance and a bus stop...

A quaint, relaxing little hostel. We stayed for one night before flying to Easter Island and are staying again on our return. Tidy, clean and comfortable. Definitely one of our favourites in the continent. Delicious breakfast. Good location; simple to get to from the airport. Helpful and welcoming staff with great local knowledge. Four bed dorm is a little cramped...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hey fellow travellers! Why staying with us?If you check the reviews, most of them point out our staff as the best. Do you know why? Because they love working at Don Santiago, and that happens when the staff feel secure about what they are 'selling' a We know that staying a hostel is sucha a life experience, we know we have hotel style matresses in dorms and double beds. We do provide the best breakfast in Santiago as follows:Brewed coffee, tea, ginger lemonade.Scrambled eggs varieties: oregano, merken (spice smoked chilli with coriander); and ciboulette.Fresh fruit salad with honey. We are a million miles away from the business-like check-'em-in check-'em-out hostels Staff is fantastically friendly and the house feels like staying in a home with friends where you can relax and play music with the guys there, or just listen to them play.Toilets are cleaned everyday, maybe you will have to wait a bit when the house is full, but usually when people is having breakfast, the rest of people is showering, so it works wellWe don`t push people to buy tours, seriously, Santiago is such a safe city, where you can go anywhere (wineries, beach, Valparaiso) by yourself, and we can get you instructions in order to make it cheaper. However, there are tours available, just ask. =)The house is from 1910, wood floors are creaky, and if you are a light sleeper, we do provide earplugs on request. We are not a party hostel though, please know that. Quiet time starts at 01:00There are no rules in Don Santiago, once again, We do appeal to 'travelers common sense'Welcome to Don Santiago!!!!! , Certificate of Excellence TRIPADVISOR 2012'and remember, what happens in Don Santiago, stays at Don Santiago ... more   less
