My husband and I stayed here twice while in Chile. We stayed for a week the first time and returned for 3 nights after traveling around the country. The hostel is like a home away from home, very cozy and inviting. Very social hostel, great place to meet fellow travelers. Staff is wonderful Paulina and Tom were always helpful and...

I have been in castillo surfista hostel for about 10 days and I loved everything about it. Really nice staff, good vibes, they organize things and the hostel is very clean. It really felt very homy to me. Hostel is near barrio bella vista and el centro. It's a nice and quiet neighbourhood. I definitely would come back here. Thanks...

I stayed there for 3 nights and I had a great time. The staff was super helpful, the breakfast is nice and the place is really cosy. At night there are nice activities and you can chill with everyone in the backyard. It's like a home away from home. Everyone gets together. The bedrooms are nice, the lockers are a...

Only stayed in this hostel for one night with my boyfriend, and we were very happy! The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the kitchen is very well stocked and clean, and it is overall a very cute and friendly vibe hostel. The location is a bit far from the plaza de armas, but is close to the Bellavista neighborhood, which...

I can definitely say that this is one of the best hostels I stayed in, and I stayed in quite a lot. Plus, my best hostel experience in Latin America. I stayed at this place at the beginning of my travels through Chile, in between for a couple of days, and before I flew back home. You feel so welcome...

Stayed here for two nights. The dorm was clean, the bathrooms cleaner and the breakfast was really good. The location was great, close to supermarkets and the metro. The common room was good and the kitchen clean. The only downside we experienced were that the staff members weren't very friendly off shift, and were quite 'exclusive', not really interested to...

Stayed a few nights here & enjoyed it. Great location, close to touristy stuff & metro line stop. Lots of things going on at hostel so good if travelling on your own. The hostel in an old house so has creaky floorboards but nice big rooms & massive bathrooms! Downside was that no hot water in kitchen so utensils were...

This hostel is incredible! Very chilled out and relaxing vibe with some of the best guests and staff I have come across on my trip through South America! One of the staff members, Marion , even made us an amazing sandwich for dinner completely out of the kindness of her heart! Location is great and beds are comfy! I highly...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
WINNER OF THE HOSTELBOOKERS 2013 EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR CLEANEST HOSTEL IN SOUTH AMERICA. Come experience a boutique-style fusion of CALIFORNIA SURFER and KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE, nestled within a large 100 year old house in one of Santiago's most unique and safest neighborhoods. My name is Jonathan, a lifelong traveler and California surfer. This hostel is new, a place I created for backpackers, students, ocean lovers, and gonzo spirit soul surfers. I decided not to cram the rooms with beds so you and intimate groups of new friends can stretch out and have the entire house to yourselves, complete with a large kitchen, patio with BBQ, garden, LED TV room, dining room and computer room. Party all night long or take a moment to relax alone. It's all possible here. We are strategically located in the heart of Santiago, in an area of great historical, cultural and natural value. This exclusive area is very close to the typical places of the city: Parque Bustamante, Plaza Italia, San Cristóbal Hill, Barrio Bellavista, Rio Mapocho, Parque Forestal, a large supermarket, laundromats, restaurants and more. ... more   less
