Hotel was very nice! Staff was great, rooms were nice (nice linens, quiet air conditioning, comfortable bed). Lounge was very nice with great happy out specials every day. The only things requiring improvement were the carpeting and in-room electronic capabilities.

We had a great stay here. The location was perfect for getting to different parts of the city. We could walk or easily pick up Ubers just about anywhere. There was always someone at the door to greet us and help us if we needed it. Our room was clean and comfortable. Great breakfast with lots of options.

A lot of properties to consider in SCL. I won’t go through my selection process, but it doesn’t necessarily have to do with status. I came across the Le Meridien, that the Marriott website labeled as ‘new’. Apparently new to Marriott (since December), but certainly not a new property. It was formerly a Crowne Plaza. Not sure if ownership changed, but the property had to be rebranded. It is just a couple of blocks from the ground zero of Santiago protests at Plaza Baquedano and something bad happened at the property. Not sure how true that is – I didn’t read it on the Internet; heard a couple of other guests discussing it. Anyhow, LTP, stay mid-March, 3 nights. Late arrival. I used the shared shuttle service to the property. Never again (and not the property’s idea or fault). Booked a class king city view room and received the same. I did ask about upgrades and the FDA told me that an upgraded room maybe be available the next night for the remainder of my stay. I wasn’t interested in moving rooms as I had full days of tourism and I was already behind due to a 18 hour flight delay. Note that I was recognized as a LTP, proactively offered late checkout at 4 PM, and everything else explained to me. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was great! The property is well located. Everything that I wanted to see was within walking distance (for me that means within 2 miles/45 minutes on flatland). But Uber is also readily available. Barrio Bellavista and/or Barrio Artes are close by for a large variety of restaurants, shops, etc. That said, I can take care of myself, but I wouldn’t walk around after dark other than a direct walk back from one of the Barrios to the property. There was nothing remarkable about the room. It was clean and comfortable albeit in need of renovation. If you are into English-speaking TV, you’ll need to get over it. The room did have a Nespresso-like machine and additional pods were available for the asking (I asked for 2 and 10 were dropped off). My public review rule for 2024 is the automatic drop of 1 point when plugs (any type – I can use a converter) are not provided bedside. It is 2024, not 2004; plug bricks are like 10 USD from Amazon. Breakfast was a decent buffet in the restaurant, including made to order omelets. Oddly enough, there were no hot meats offered on the buffet. The FDA told me that the lounge was being renovated, but there was a lounge like feature at the bar. Between 5-7 PM, small bites and a narrow variety of beer, wine, and sparkling wine were offered – for all guests. Once the small bites were gone, there were not any refills. Unfortunately, there was a group of 4 who helped themselves to most of the small bites. I even observed the bartender mentioning nicely (and no language barrier) that the small bites were for all and would not be refilled. That fell on deaf ears. I can’t stand people that treat the lounge or like as dinner when that is clearly not the intent. Checkout went well. I didn’t take advantage of late checkout because my flight changed to an earlier time. And I used the hotel driver to take me to the airport for a reasonable cost. Note to keep your belongings close to you anywhere in Santiago!

My son & I arrived after 10pm and check in was chaotic. Pedro was checking us in and also dealing with phone enquiries at the same time! My son called room service 3 times and gave our order by phone each time and after waiting for almost an hour we went back to the front desk and were given another number to call. Called this and were told that they had not received our order at all! Around 2am, our phone kept ringing and someone knocked several times on our door with the order!! Complained to the staff on the front desk the next day and asked to speak to the manager. I was told that she was in a meeting and the message would be passed on. Never heard from the manager at all. The lobby, bar area, open spaces where the meeting rooms were located and breakfast room looked ok & breakfast could be improved. Once you go up the lift to the rooms, it’s a different story. The carpets were very dirty with stains all over, the windows were also dirty that you couldn’t see the view outside. The wall paper was shabby and peeling in some places and some holes on walls & wires where sockets had been removed! The lift doors were also dirty. Our bedroom carpet was filthy with dark stains all over, the room was badly lit with old furniture. There were no shower caps, vanity kit, robe and 2 half used small body lotion! There was only a bar soap provided for 2 days (Had to use my own body wash) The toilet bowl was partially brown inside as clearly not been cleaned properly. Analogue TV wasn’t clear. The next day we went out before 9am and returned at 3.30pm & our room had not been cleaned at all! Complained to reception and had to sit in the lobby for one hour whilst it was cleaned. We had to check whether the room was ready after an hour as no one informed us or apologised. The doormen/porters/valet just stare and don’t say hello. This is not a 5 star hotel at all - I would say 2 star and the worst hotel I have stayed in under the Marriott group of hotels. Check your final invoice as the wrong dates were written on mine. I do not recommend this hotel at all as I had a terrible experience overall!

Very nice hotel in the center of Santiago, our room 2008 was spacious, clean with a great view of the whole city. We spent a great five nights there and enjoyed the hotel very much. Stuff perfect, nice and friendly. More umbrellas by the pool would be nice.

Very friendly staff - couldn't do more to help us. Room was lovely an comfortable with huge bed and great view of the city and mountains. As said with previous comments it will need an update but for the price, it's very good value. Also two for one cocktails from 6pm to 9pm. Bar and restaurant areas are fine and as said previously staff were great.

During our 10-day stay in Santiago, Chile, my partner and I chose to experience the accommodations offered by Le Meridien Hotel. In this review, I will share important details about the property and its location that you should consider before making your reservation. According to La Tercera, this hotel was at the epicenter of the protests in Santiago, Chile. While efforts have been made towards recovery, it is still undergoing renovations. Let's begin with the property itself. The exterior of the building was undergoing renovations, with a noticeable film peeling off the windows. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by a strong smell of smoke that lingered in the air, creating a faint haze. To our disappointment, we noticed smudged lipstick marks on one of the guest glasses placed on the refrigerator. The carpet showed signs of neglect, with patches of dirt scattered across its worn-out fibers. Upon inspection, it was clear that the common areas were in a state of disrepair. Exposed wires dangled haphazardly, stained carpeting marred the floor, signs of water damage were evident, and paint peeling off the walls gave a sense of neglect. Regrettably, the fitness center was closed throughout our stay. Additionally, we encountered internet connectivity issues. Despite bringing this to the attention of the front desk, they nonchalantly informed us that it was a common occurrence. When we inquired about a backup solution, they simply stated that there was none. Not only was the fitness center closed, but to our dismay, both restaurants on the property were also closed, leaving us with no choice but to venture outside in search of a place to enjoy our dinner. Regarding the location, it is important to note that the metropolitan area of Santiago is divided into communes. This hotel is situated in the Santiago commune, which, according to the "Center for Crime Studies and Analysis," had the highest number of reported homicides in 2022. Unfortunately, my partner and I experienced a violent knife-point attack just 200 meters from the hotel entrance. When we arrived back at the hotel, we tried to call the police. However, due to the internet not functioning, we faced difficulty in contacting the police. Overall, while the Le Meridien Hotel in Santiago, Chile may have some shortcomings, it is crucial to consider these factors before finalizing your booking decision.

Don’t stay here. The price is good. You get what you pay for. Hotel converted from a Crowne Plaza in February 2023. Looks awful inside and out. Total renovation required. Room was dank, old furniture, unclean, badly lit, and gym was a joke. Pleasant receptions staff. Breakfast and dinner service personnel need training. Area around hotel was unsafe. Graffiti everywhere outside hotel. No reason to stay at this hotel in r anywhere downtown.

Terrible Marriott property I've ever stayed at (I've stayed over 1,300 nights at Marriott brand hotels all over the world). Issues: 1. Location is rundown. 2. The hotel rooms are in disrepair - we were upgraded to a Junior Suite with stained sticky carpet, spoiled furniture and a noisy air-conditioning unit that didn't blow any air. 3. Looks like they start to remodel 3 rooms on the 17th floor but looks like repairs stopped weeks ago. Wiring is left exposed in the hallway 4. Parking - is unsafe, no security. Marriott advertises this property as a "New Hotel". Except for the reception area, there is nothing new about this property. This was The Crowne Plaza but became a Marriott property in April 2023.

We got a very warm welcome, the hotel is very well situated but it has seen better days definitely needs a refurb, it is rather tatty in many areas especially the bedroom. The view would have been absolutely lovely had we been able to see out of the windows which need a serious clean! It is very close to a very buzzy area with lots of excellent restaurants.
