Hotel Plaza San Francisco is often celebrated for its fusion of classic charm and old-world elegance, a sentiment echoed by numerous guests. The central location garners high praise for its convenience to nearby attractions, dining, and shopping. Many guests commend the hotel for its spacious rooms and commendable service, although some do note that the rooms can appear slightly dated and occasionally noisy. Cleanliness is generally well-regarded, with the exception of occasional reports of stained carpets. The amenities, particularly the breakfast and restaurant, contribute to the hotel's perceived good value, despite some inconsistencies.

Great hotel! Very well located, close to public transport and areas of interest: supermarkets, shops and museums. The service was impeccable, with extremely kind staff. The room we stayed was very comfortable, firm mattresses, several pillows per bed(in perfect sweetness!) We didn't use some amenities like pool and gym, but they were available. The highlight is for the bathroom: spacious and with soap, shampoo and moisturizer at will, in bottles in the bathtub and sink. The breakfast was spectacular! An unparalleled variety, meeting all needs(even sparkling had!) The only two negative points: the shower in the bathtub made a mesh, ⁇ because we were not used to the type of shower. And the television, which was an old model and it took 20 minutes for the sound to work... but, as it wasn't essential, it was hit. I highly recommend for the location, as other tourists who stayed in more "chic" neighborhoods complained of the lack of options for meals or Shopping. If we ever come back, we will definitely stay there!

The hotel is nice, centrally located, walking distance from some points of interest. The staff was friendly and accommodating, gave me early check in at noon, per request. My room was cozy, pretty with classical ambiance. The bathroom was spacious, small jacuzzi tub.

Good value for money for this category of hotel.

Traditional, fairly formal style and a little dark. We were upgraded to superior room and it was large and comfortable as was the bathroom, although shower was over the bath.

We arrived at 10am from an overnight flight and for extra 50 USD we were able to check in straightaway and have breakfast.

Decent gym and an indoor pool. Roof top bar which we didn't go to.

Breakfast was OK but not the best quality and it was the same every day.

There was only ever one lift working which caused a few long waits.

Location is OK but not the best. It's on the main road through the city so there a few shops and and fast food places around but nearest restaurant area is 15 mins walk.

Overall, there were no outstanding features but we had a comfortable stay. However, i would probably choose to stay in a different part of the city next time.

If you like being ignored at the bar while half a dozen staff mill around (subsequently hanging over you to agreee to a service charge before processing your credit card) then this might be the place but I found very little to recommend it. The breakfast was an average buffet, the leisure complex had no toilets so I had to be escorted up two flights of stairs in a wet costume to find some conference type facilities. They opened the door for you at reception but that was cold comfort when compared to the overall experience which struck me as poorly managed, expensive and lazy. I am an experienced traveller and very, very rarely write poor reviews but in my opinion this is a hotel to avoid. The rooms are nice enough and the location is ok but overall you just feel like quite an unwelcome guest. Being forced to wear a shower cap in the pool (I have almost no hair) really did sum up the experience. I would never come back.

The receptionist and bellman were very friendly and dedicated to their job, then we went down to dinner since we arrived around 10:30 pm, the lady who treated us very pleasantly and there were something like 3 waitresses and a bartender during the service helped us choose The cocktails were all very good and tasty, the only bad and ugly thing was getting to the room which had a very dirty carpet with stains and for the price you pay per night under no circumstances should that happen!
In general, if it wasn't for the excellent service of the staff, I would have given it a 1, and the fact that they charge you for water in the room is even worse!
At breakfast, the incredible service from the waiters, in the shower the soap didn't work we had to fix it ourselves, simple mistakes like these and the carpet have no excuses.

I had stayed there in previous years, the hotel's strong point is the location and attentive staff.
The breakfast was spectacular, on this stay, it left a lot to be desired, few options of cakes and breads.
The cleanliness of the rooms also fell a lot, we found clothes from previous guests under the bed, we had to ask the maid for toilet paper and conditioner, as it was not replenished, we were 3 people and they only put 2 bath towels so every day we had to ask.
When booking, I had requested a room with a bathtub and they provided one without until there was a leak in the air conditioning and I requested to change the room to one with a bathtub.

POSITIVE - The location of the hotel is great! You can do many walks on foot, and the metro station is 100m away, allowing access to the entire city. The hotel is luxurious but dated. Decor items, furniture and the lobby are from a time when carpeting and gold everything was still fashionable. The breakfast is plentiful. The pool is great. The staff are attentive and polite.

NEGATIVE - We had a problem with changing towels and organizing the room. The room had a door leading to the next room, even though it was closed we could hear the other guest's TV. One day a room access key was removed from the system that maintains power during cleaning and we were given another one. That same night they tried to access the room around 11:00 pm, leaving the door open. We only noticed because we were there, the intruder noticed the internal noise and left quickly... I immediately informed reception and Booking, but we were told that nothing had been recorded on the cameras. I think we should have run after him to get some results, even if it cost our safety. It is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel to have security problems of this magnitude.

We stayed on the night of the national power outage in Chile (25th Feb). We found the staff to be amazing, friendly and very attentive. Staff speak fluent English, which makes communication very easy. During the power cut (which lasted around 7 hours), the hotel had excellent back up plans...emergency lighting/generators made everyone feel safe and comfortable. The staffed advised us that the restaurant is open and serving meals, so we went there for dinner. Meal was perfect, staff were unfazed and worked like clockwork (serving over 50 people while we were there). Conditions outside the hotel felt chaotic with traffic and people, but inside was like a calm oasis. Well done to Hotel Plaza San Francisco! Well done and thank you to the staff. I would give you 10 stars, if I could.

Staying in this classy older hotel will make you feel special with friendly helpful staff, large comfortable room, on-site restaurant, fully equipped bar with live music and snacks and a delicious full breakfast. Located in a walkable area in the area of government buildings with easy walk to the subway. Not your typical cookie cutter new hotel and reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed.

This is a good hotel at a great price in the heart of Santiago near the government buildings and historic points of interest. The staff was excellent, hotel was very clean, amenities nice, rooftop bar was great for sunset drinks, and easy to walk to major points of interest. For the dollar, it would be hard to beat.

While the hotel is in well-kept condition- it is a bit dated, it is like walking into a 1990 Ralph Lauren time capsule in terms of the furniture, wood paneling, carpets, and overall design of the public spaces and rooms.

Also, this area of the city is very closed up at night- no restaurants to walk to etc. That was the only significant drawback. But, for $8 you can get a cab to the financial district where you have many restaurants to walk around.

Be sensible and don’t stay out too late if you go out to eat, we found the food in the hotel excellent, obviously more expensive than on the street but for peace of mind and if you are of a slightly nervous disposition I’d stay in the hotel. For convenience, take tea bags or coffee in your luggage, the hotel provides only 1 tea bag and 1 coffee then charges you quite a hefty mark up for further supplies, There is also a Supermarket a short distance down the street, buy them there, much cheaper.
