I stayed here for a couple nights and the hotel is in very good shape, everything still smells new.
The location isn't really good, there's literally nothing around, you will need an Uber to go anywhere.
Never take a taxi in Chile!!! They will totally rip you off.
Front desk people isn't friendly or welcoming at all but I think that's everywhere in Chile.

It is exactly what you would expect from an Ibis—small but functional room, clean, no luxury.
Regarding the location, it all depends on what you will do in Santiago. It is in the middle of the road between downtown (and historical tourist attractions) and the richer neighborhoods (with its malls, bars, and restaurants)

Pretty primitive. It is an Ibis though. No kettles or any glasses or cups in the room. Was there 3 days and despite the “clean my room” sign it didn’t get cleaned.

Sheets and bedding were stained, but it’s cheap and a good location.
Skip the overpriced breakfast and hit the cafes across the road.

Little or no English, so keep that in mind if your Español is iffy.

Nice room, nice view. Poor breakfast (with pineapple and orange 'juice' made with powder). Terrible internet, incapable of using Netflix or making a video call. I tried to call reception for about 2 hours - always engaged. Lady at breakfast shortchanged me when I paid in cash. All in all, poor quality and poor service. I'll go elsewhere next time.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay in this hotel. We often stay in budget accommodation so it's not new for us, but the service was SO terrible! We made 10 local phone calls and were charged $8. There is no notification on the phone or at check in that there is a fee to make LOCAL calls. Ridiculous. The staff at the desk said it's normal for Ibis hotels to charge for phone calls, but how are we supposed to know that if we have never stayed at one of their hotels before?!

Breakfast was also horrible... the containers with bread and cereal were empty when we arrived in the middle of the breakfast hour and were filled after about 10 min. Everything got emptied quickly by the customers but were not refilled at the same pace. There was not enough seating for everyone so a few people ate standing at the counter or sharing tables. Then we were charged $6 each for breakfast upon checkout!! Go eat elsewhere... It's not worth the convenience to eat at the hotel.

The rooms are basic and small, but sufficient. If you have a lot of luggage it could be uncomfortable. The wifi signal was good throughout the hotel, and was free.

Overall, you get what you pay for and we got scammed by the hidden fees. We won't stay here again.

I'm a big proponent of Accor hotels, and I am particularly fond of the Ibis chain for the terrific value it provides. I was a guest at this hotel for six nights. My rate averaged $79/night.

Pros:

While the nearby Metro station is quite handy, the hotel is also walking distance from a number of good restaurants (La Cuisine comes highly recommended). The neighborhood and the hotel itself always felt quite safe. Access to the main lobby from the street later in the evening is via key card, and you'll also need your card to access your floor via the elevator. There was always a well dressed security person who was there keeping an eye on everything, which I also appreciated.

The room (standard with double bed) provided enough space for my requirements. Plenty of shelf space with a safe up top, and a second open closet for shirts. The bed was quite comfortable, and the noise from the street on the 9th floor was not too loud. The bathroom provided adequate counter space, and I found the water pressure and temperature in the shower was never a problem. At the end of the hallway on either side of the building you'll get either a nice view of the Andes to the east (provided it's a clear day) and the sunset and the distant coastal range of mountains to the west. The lobby is fairly spacious, and there is a comfortable sitting area right by the windows facing the street. The elevators worked fine, and they were fast enough and had a decent amount of room to stand with several other people with luggage. Housekeeping did a very good job with the room each day. There is a Turistik desk adjacent to the dining area for those who want to book last minute activities.

Cons/Room for Improvement:

I think the hotel could improve in a couple of ways. Because the front reception staff speak limited (in some cases, very limited) English, communication may be a problem for monolingual folks like myself. If you know some Spanish, brush up on it, as it will come in handy. I found the staff always endeavored to be helpful despite the communication challenges. Because I had booked a series of day trips that left earlier in the morning, I chose to eat breakfast at the hotel. I think the quality of the items offered is something management could continue to look to improve.

Spent four nights at this hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel is located in a safe area wuth easy access to tourist spots. We had no hesitation in walking around the streets both day and night. The room is a typical Ibis room, a little on the small side but very clean and adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpfull and some could understand and speak English which made it easier for us. Breakfast was good value for money. Will stay there again when next in Santiago.

The Hotel was clean, the lobby & bkft area, as well as my room was clean. I noticed that they do not provide washcloths, not sure if they have them if you ask for it but since I always travel with my own Towels & washcloths, it was not a problem for me. But if you're someone that dont travel with these things, You wanna make sure you pack accordingly. The furniture in the room was the simple & typical type that one would see at IKEA. simple & functional.
************
I noted a foul smell at times in the hall way near the elevators & down in the lobby, not sure what it was but pretty sure it was coming through the Vents. We were on the 5th floor & did not have a view of the Andes Mountains. Our view faced the street & sidewalk & looking down on the green roofs of some buildings.
********************
Breakfast choices were the same everyday & not enough protein option in terms of meat choices..only luke warm scrambled eggs that need to be cooked some more (very soupy & soft). If you don't get down to eat bkft within at least the 1st hour after its put out, then you run the risk of cold eggs. Everything else was served cold. Cold ham slices, (there were 2 types of cold cuts), lots of cheese, lots of Breads to choose from such as Wheat slices, Donuts, Croissants, muffins, some type of sweet raisin cake/bread sliced up. the Yogurt was very good I must say. it was the liquid kind that you drink instead of eat with a spoon. There was OJ, & Coffee & water which was room temp, u have to ask for (Heilo) ICE..
**********************************************
Dinner choices were not bad, we ordered BBQ Pork Chops & mash potatoes & my friend ordered Steak which was a little on the Tough side..seasoned well though. They WILL try to charge you for your bkft daily if you dont point it out to them that it's already included in the price & it's on their website. However on the 1st day of check in when I got just some coffee, they charged me $2 USD for 1 small 5 oz cup & said that the bkft is only included once u sleep overnight at the hotel.. wait, WHAT? LOL
**************************************
My major pet peeve was that we went on a wine tour & I bought a bottle of wine & did not have a corkscrew to open so I went down to the front desk to ask for assistance & was told they would have to charge me 2000 CLP (Chilean Pesos) to open it even though I was a guest in their hotel. I was very upset about this & asked why do they charge their guest that's already paying to stay in the hotel, b/c things like this should be given to us a courtesy & I was told that they charge b/c they want you to buy THEIR WINE, not any other wine. Needless to say I was flabbergasted b/c I came to Chile & went on a wine tour & bought a bottle of wine so in my opinion I"m supporting the economy either way, regardless of where the wine came from. I didnt have a problem paying the 2000 Pesos but it's just the principle of the thing so Of course I did not pay & went back up to my room & went into McGyver mode with my little TweezerS & a spoon handle & opened up my wine myself. So let this be a note to some, please travel with your Corkscrew.
************************************
The hotel is close to transportation i.e Buses, taxes, etc etc so you wont have a problem getting around & a couple of the front desk staff spoke a decent amount of English so they called the Taxi cabs for us which helped a lot.
*********************************
They do accept USD for payment as well as credit cards & CLP as well. I paid for my 3 nighs in USD cash. Overall, my stay was tolerable but if/when I go back to Santiago I will stay somewhere else.

Ibis is not a luxury chain so don't expect that. However, it's very clean, reliable and there is always free internet. In addition, it's very well located - Providencia is strategically placed between Bellavista and Las Condes. It's next to a subway station so you can get to both nearby neighborhoods very easily and inexpensively.

Excellent option at Santiago. The capital of Chile is a very expensive city, specially Hotels. Ibis Santiago Providencia is an excellent alternative with clean rooms, parking area, free internet access, good location, acceptable food, etc. If you are looking for more services, then look for a more expensive option. For the ones like me, that prefer a convenient option at a fair price, then this hotel is great. My fourth visit to Chile and my second stay at the Ibis Providencia. I stayed also at the Ibis Estacion Central en two previous trips, but the location is not so nice.

In general it is possible to leave bags for a few days at no charge if you’re going back to be a customer at the same hotel. I did this in Peru and Greece but didn’t need to in Chile. I’m sure they will be ok.
