Best location, amazing staff! La Casona is in the heart of Santiago, near to metro station, shops, and you can go by walking to touristic points such as Cerro Santa Lucia, Cerro San Cristobal, Museo de Bellas Artes, Mac, Parque Forestal and so on.
This Hostel is enormous, well-decorated. The wifi is super speedy, the breakfast is complete and self-service. my experience during the stay was great. I really enjoyed the location and their space! They offer a free-pass to a club near the hostel for guests which was perfect. I completely recommend this place to who is looking for the quality.
I stayed two nights in this hostal during a quick visit to this part of the city and used the emperor suite, it was fantastic! Clean, fresh, and especially comfortable, my own balcony and bathroom. Shared spaces are also great, enabling conversation between guests, and good music and a supportive staff, just great!
My wife and I had a private room for three nights. Pros: -Great location, walkable to almost everything -Staff was friendly and helpful -Good price Cons: -Breakfast was sub-par, not much offered and very underwhelming -Our room was VERY hot during the day, no air conditioning and no breeze with windows open. We traveled in December -You have to pay for a bath towel -Soap dispenser was broken in room -The water temperature in the shower was difficult to regulate
Beautiful hostel in the santiago center. Metro is just at the end of the street. Super clean and well decorated. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Deserve a 10/10. Everything was perfect. Nice commun area.
I stayed in a 6 bedroom with a private bathroom. My experience was very nice. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and quiet. There was a wardrobe, but you need to take your own padlock. The shower was good too, but it took time to heat. The breakfast was simple (bread, ham, cheese, jam, coffee, tea, juice, cereals, yogurt, dulce de leche), but very good. The only problem was that it started only at 8 am. The staff was very friendly and helpfull too. Oh, and the location of the hostel was perfect, near the subway and lots of attractions. I really recommend this hostel.
The location of this hostel is ideal - down a quiet, safe street but in the middle of Bellas Artes and within easy walking distance of all of the major site, including Santa Lucia park, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Plaza de Armas and many more. The Bellas Artes metro stop if basically a block away. Friendly staff that speaks English. I had a private room with a private bathroom and it was HUGE, much larger than I was expecting. Very clean. There was a nice selection for breakfast as well. My only complaint was that the heater did not work at all but there were warm blankets so that did not matter much. I would stay there again.
I got a private room with a shared bath down the hall. Santiago is cold in the winter, the heater struggled, but there were warm blankets. After a hot shower (nice shower), I burrito-ed in bed and slept well. The breakfast is tasty. Sit down at a prepared place at the table and meet new friends. I found a new friend that I went exploring with. The hostel well-located, just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. It is EXTREMELY safe! There is a shared kitchen (Lider Express is around the corner). I would DEFINITELY return! The staff is super-helpful and this hostel is clean and safe! Thanks!
Location: Great - 10 min walk to Plaza de Armas and 15 across the river from Bellavisata Secuirty: Good - gated and 24 hr front desk Amenties: So-so, no bar. Rooms - so so, very dated (think 1950s rooms never renovated), VERY squeaky floors and flimsy doors, old mattress. Cleaniness - this is a bit of a problem, there is daily house-keeping and cleaning but the washrooms floors were filthy every time I visited (morning, mid-day, evening). Other issues: No heating, so very cold in the morning on a fall day. Water temp fluctuates between scolding to cold all the time so it was very difficult to get a shower in. Price: 36$ for a single room with shared bath which was good Depending on what you are looking for this may be your fit. It was for me as I'm not too social, was on a budget, wasn't too picky about the room, and wanted a good location. If you are looking for socialization and better rooms there are probably better options around.…
Absolutely phenomenal hostel! I’ve stayed in a wide variety of hostels and hotels ranging from dingy places I’ll never revisit to immaculate hotels that were so nice I shouldn’t have been allowed in. La Casona Hostel ranks up there with the best of them. The staff were kind, spoke great English, and were very patient when I tried to practice my Spanish. Our private room was perfect; the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. Overall it was a very cozy and cultured place to stay.
