My wife and I recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel, Santiago 3 times for a total of 8 nights during January and February 2025. As part of an extended trip through South America and antarctica, we visited the hotel while in Santiago, CL or while transiting through on our way to our next destination.
The hotel staff are for the most part, friendly, accommodating and helpful. Staff speak a variety of languages in addition to Spanish and were always eager to practice.
The hotel has a lovely and relaxing pool area with loungers, small cabanas and extensive patio and garden areas for relocation. There is a dreary Sky Bar on the top floor which disappoints in food and beverage quality and was nearly vacant on a Friday evening. The décor is dated and dingy with an overall worn down feeling. The space my better be used if converted to the Bonvoy members lounge or a high end suite. The current Bonvoy Members lounge is small and utilitarian. The staff in the lounge are however exemplary. Pleasant conversationalist, and on top of remembering requests, restocking food and beverage items and generally making time spent there pleasant. The room itself is smaller, decorated in a utilitarian manner and feels dated. While we were there we had the misfortune of encountering more than a couple “loud talkers” who couldn’t or wouldn’t use their indoor voices. Most of the lounge guest seem to be from North America (excluding Mexico) and so the conversations where primarily in English. Additionally, the hotel seemed to attract a fair number of individuals who were either at the beginning or end of a cruise.
The concierge staff called the Navigators are great. Arranging private tours and restaurant recommendations as well s private airport transfer.
Housekeeping was good but seemed to have a lot of rooms to clean on a daily basis. This resulted in them not getting to the room until later in the day on occasion. Their work was thorough and they were conscientious about restocking toiletries and towels. One thing I disliked is that this hotel uses the practice of using a flat sheet as a bottom sheet on beds. This is uncomfortable for guests, requires extra work for housekeeping staff to tuck, smooth and rearrange and it is a cost saving measure for the hotel that is dis service to the consumer. These days this practice can distinguish between high end hotels and mid to low quality ones. I have yet to experience the non fitted bottom sheet in true luxury properties. The adage you get what you pay for is true!
The hotel is a solid choice in a good area. Flanked by a large residential area, shopping mall and pedestrian corridors it affords guests a variety of views and activities in the neighborhood.

This was my second stay here, the first was 3 years ago for business just after COVID reopening when services were understandably limited. This visit was for vacation and perfect.

My wife and I arrived early morning after a red eye flight and fortunately a room was available for early check in so we were able to rest and freshen up. Sebastian was very efficient at check in and has been with this property for years.

The location is a short walk to a large mall with restaurant options and where there is a main stop for the city hop on / hop off bus is very convenient.

Rooms are well appointed. Marcela in the morning, and Javiera in the afternoon are wonderful hosts for the club lounge which has a very plentiful and good quality of food and beverages, comfortable furniture and a great view of the Andes and local neighborhoods.

Quality of sushi at the Asian restaurant is good, the Sky Bar has a a fun atmosphere and the pool area is very relaxing.

Gym is fairly small but functional and it’s nice to have a steam room and sauna.

While not a resort, it feels like a mini resort, and good for both business and pleasure.

One of the best Renaissance properties and I’ve stayed at many as a Lifetime Titanium member.

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Santiago for one night to recover from the long flight from the US. Because US flights always arrive early in the morning in Chile, we reserved the previous night to ensure an 8 am check-in. Indeed, our room was ready and waiting when we arrived. We used Bonvoy points for the reservation, and the cost for 2 nights was a great bargain compared to most US Marriots.

Everyone on the staff was super helpful and friendly. As Titanium members, we had access to the Club where we could have dinner and wine that evening (mostly light food, but very good quality and enough choices for anyone). Breakfast was also available in the Club in the morning and snacks and drinks during the day.

I especially want to mention the Club hostesses Javiera and Marcella. They were very friendly and helped with any special dietary requirements and drinks. It was a pleasure to be in the Club, and I would definitely encourage others to pay the extra fees for entry if your status requires that.

Our room was excellent: quiet and comfortable. The bathroom has two sinks, and there were washcloths - which is something of a luxury outside the US.

The hotel is within walking distance of the huge Parque Arauco mall, where you can shop forever and find many restaurants. You can also get on the hop-on/hop-off bus for a tour of the city, which we did and recommend.

We wished we had planned to stay a second night.

Great hotel, good service from Juan and Sebastian at reception. Omar, Juan and Cristian chef, Javier in the bar and of course Magdalena in room cleaning. Thank you for your attention and willingness to take care of us well. The view of the Andes Mountains is wonderful. I suggest better presentation of desserts and ice cream in room service, for the slightly higher value we had more expectations. Thank you. Sandra C.

The Renaissance Santiago is a well priced hotel in the Marriott Bonvoy family that offers well appointed rooms, good service, and an excellent club lounge.

While we did not get an upgrade for our 5 night stay as a Titanium, the hotel was able to provide connecting rooms on the club level and excellent service. At check-in, and with respect to a generous late checkout, we were helped by Joaquin.

We were assisted before arrival by Valentina, who helped us organize our tours and transport and assisted by front desk manager Sebastian, who personally greeted us multiple times during our stay.

Throughout our stay (and even when we visited other areas of Chile and stayed at other hotels) we utilized the services of head driver Herbert who made our tours memorable. He was multilingual, professional, and caring throughout our journey. He worked with us to adjust our schedule due to the kiddos and to make sure our journeys were memorable. Moreover, when he saw us on days where we did not book his services, he always insisted on taking us where we needed to go--that is true hospitality.

In the lounge, we were serviced by a number of individuals including Natalia & Luis who always welcomed us and tended to our needs. The lounge was always well stocked during breakfast and evening service, and we were always treated well in a comfortable and quiet environment, which was the perfect retreat we needed after long days.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough for business or pleasure.

We stayed for 3 nights using points. Front desk staff is totally untrained to work at a 5 star hotel. I spoke to Karen before arriving at the hotel and informed her that we have a third person in our room. She told me that there will be $60 USD per day charge for the third person. I wanted to cancel our stay and book at nearby doubletree by Hilton. She put me on hold and then told me that they will waive this charge if no extra bed is needed. We arrived at 12:30 am at the hotel and th front desk person said that we need to pay this charge. Even though we changed our room from a king room to two double beds, with no upgrade, we have titanium status. If you book a room with 3 people, reservation confirmation will not say anything about third person charge, it will be told to you only at check in, whether you require additional bedding or not, you have to pay. The night supervisor was in bathroom for 20 mins and could not be reached. We finally gave in got the room after 1 pm. This charge is under dispute with the credit card now. Front desk staff never greets guests as they pass the lobby. We were given late checkout till 4 pm, but the person did not inform me that we need to come to the front desk in the morning to get new keys. We came back to the room after massage at 1 pm and keys did not work. Instead of sending new keys to the room, they asked me to come down in my robe. There were 3 people at front desk doing nothing. One of them could have brought keys to our 11th floor room. My ID was not even checked before issuing new keys. Lounge staff was excellent. Massage was great. Towels were old and rough, 3 star hotel quality at best. They charge you if you use more then two coffee pods each day. Front desk interrupted us by calling at 11:30 pm at night to inform us about a tour pickup at 8 am next morning. All they had to do was drop a note under our door. We booked the tour, so we knew about the pick up time.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience while staying with us. Your reception experience is below our standard. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations. I have shared your comments with the reservations department leadership team to ensure that the necessary guidelines are implemented and reviewed to prevent unawareness of charging for the extra person in the room from the time of reservation from occurring in the future. I hope you choose to stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area.

I spent three nights at the Renaissance Hotel as I have status with Marriott. My room rate was to include breakfast each day. The first two nights before departing to Easter Island I was told they could upgrade me to the club level and they then charged me $50/night even though the club lounge was closed (it was a weekend) and I had status with Marriott. So I was unable to eat breakfast or have club lounge access. The room on the club floor was no better than the room I had when I returned from Easter Island on a non-Club floor. When I returned the following week for an overnight stay before mingling to the USA, I was again told that breakfast was included in my rate but their hotel was hosting a conference so I could eat my breakfast in the club lounge. What they failed to tell me was that breakfast was only served until 10:30 am, so when I went for breakfast there was no food. I then went down to the restaurant who denied to seat me as I was not with their conference group. I enquired at the desk how I could eat breakfast. They told me I could order room service- but I would have to pay extra. They would not credit me the amount I had paid in advance for my room with breakfast included. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable (hence my 2 star rating) but the service and guest relations at the front desk were awful. I didn’t get what I paid for, paid extra (for club access on days when they knew club was closed) and having Marriott status gave me no privileges. I cannot and do not recommend this property. Not will I recommend this property to friends and business associates traveling to Santiago.

First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel on TripAdvisor. We are deeply sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations and we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. In relation to the opportunity presented with your breakfast, it was indeed always included in our main restaurant during breakfast hours (6:30am-10:30am, access to the executive lounge is free for our platinum, titanium and ambassador members, we regret that have not been able to enjoy our services, especially considering that they, together with the schedules, are available at the entrance to the executive lounge. I had to fight with the front-desk for 30min to request a junior suite as a platinum elite and the story changed many times (sold out, not upgrade eligible, a charge to upgrade ect) and the end result is that they didn't prioritize cleaning the room (it was already 5pm) but I could switch rooms a few hours later (which I declined). This was after I chatted the hotel the night before telling them I really valued the upgrade for this 2-night stay where they offered me a paid upgrade (which I declined). Lounge was closed night of arrival for private event (no notice from hotel) but I went the next night and it's a worse offering than most US lounges. The breakfast buffet was pretty weak with poor service (wasn't even offered a coffee). Would stay away if you value elite benefits!

Dear Mr. Rinaldi, With respect to the delivery of suites, they are subject to our availability, however, it is important to inform that at the time of your check in and during your stay you were granted an Upgrade Room to Marriott standards, which was located on the highest floor of the hotel, in the corner sector and with better amenities than standard room. I greatly regret the inconvenience of the closing of our Club Lounge, indeed our Hotel hosted a private event, which led to the closing of the Executive Lounge. We appreciate your feedback as it gives us the opportunity to improve and extend your comments to all departments of the hotel, with whom we will work together to polish our operation. Sincerely, Melissa Yanez Front Office Manager Renaissance Santiago Hotel

The beds are excellent, the rooms are cleaned every day, the entire room is kept very clean, especially the carpets.
The bathrooms have everything you need to clean yourself, maintaining the dispensers with enough product.
You have breakfast at another level, very complete and varied.
But the best thing is the attention of the staff, in the restaurant they are past today, Milaray served us with great affection.
The collaborators ensure that the clients feel well pampered.
Definitely super recommended.
The taxis are spectacular, especially Mr. Santiago.
