I stayed in dorm room in Feb 2012 and can recommend this hostel. From memory, it is conveniently located just opposite the Bella Artes metro, not far from Bella Vista area which is just beautiful and has many little bars/restaurants in close proximity. Also a really good supermarket just 2 mins walk behind the hostel (the best I saw on...

Andes is right in the centre of Santiago and has a great mix of people passing through. The staff are genuinely the best I have ever come across in a hostel, they spoke better English than me (native speaker!) and really made an effort to get to know all the guests. The breakfast is also decent - cereal, rolls, scrambled...

We wanted to spend a few nights in central Santiago and Andes had very good reviews - the hostel was full and so we took an apartment, which turned out to be amazing! It was on the 22nd floor - really modern with cooking amenities (SuperMarket on the ground floor). If you want to avoid the noise of the hostel,...

The positives: The staff are friendly, the location is excellent and it has great facilities (kitchen/breakfast). The negatives: It could be a little cleaner and the main problem is that if you are given a room on the second floor on top of the reception, they play loud music all throughout the night so bring a good pair of earplugs!

It's right across the street from the Subway. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and I'd definitely stay here if I return to Santiago. Made my stay all the better!

Stayed one night in April 2012 in one of the apartments. Friendly knowledgable staff with good English. Great Service, Faultlessly Clean, Fully Self Contained and close to cafes, railway station and supermarket. Used TransVIP to get there and it was seamless, they stored our luggage and used the train and our feet to get around. Great City for walking. Wouldn't...

Stayed in a 6-bed dorm room, which was clean and fresh. Loved the fact that the room hade wooden floors and no rugs! Lockers for your stuff, and bathroom just next door (stayed in room #32). The bathroom was tidy and looked really modern, and for once it was good to have toilets and showers in separate rooms. The beds...

Andes Hostel was recommended to me by another traveller and he raved so much about it that I booked it without even reading the reviews. The hostel is located right next to a subway station and 5-10 mins walk from the central Plaza de Armas square, and again 5 mins walk from the Cerro Santa Lucia park and loads of...

We stayed in a private double room with ensuite in the hostel building itself. The room was pretty basic - only net curtains meant it didn't get properly dark - but serviceable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Being on the floor directly above the hostel's reception/bar area did mean it stayed quite noisy quite late into the...

We were basically only in Santiago for less than 24 hours so we wanted a hostel that was affordable, clean, and in a good location. We hit the jackpot here. I was so pleasantly surprised when we got to our room, it was nicely styled and the bathroom was something i would expect in a really trendy hotel. The hotel...
