We loved our stay at Hotel Cumbres Lastarria! Our room was lovely, the breakfast was wonderful, the staff was so very helpful, and we loved both the patio and the rooftop pool and terrace. The housekeeping staff and the breakfast staff were so extremely pleasant and eager to please, and we appreciated that so very much! Also, the location of the hotel is wonderful - the LaStarria neighborhood is full of street artists and musicians, cute little sidewalk cafes, and fruit stands. Additionally, it's very easy and convenient to grab an Uber to any of the other locations in the area. We loved Santiago, and we highly recommend this hotel. Thank you all for a wonderful week!

The hotel is incredibly comfortable and the staff is wonderful. I do want to note that they do have a small fitness room with a bike machine, two treadmills and an elliptical plus small weights and TRX straps. I could find no reference to it on their website.
And my only minus star was because they offer you “deals” via email before you arrive and I requested an early check in at a discounted rate. Upon arrival I was informed they would not honor that price and it was only a “request.” I paid full price. So don’t bother with those “deals.”

This first-class hotel is in the heart of the Lastarria neighborhood, next to the most interesting restaurants in the city. When you pass through its enormous entrance door, you leave behind the noise of one of the most visited streets in the city. The rooms are spacious, clear and very clean. Very comfortable beds. The bathroom with two types of shower and very well lit. They have a Wi-Fi service, with coverage throughout the building, but it disconnects every time you don't use it for a while. Breakfast is in buffet format, quite diverse and very well maintained. They have the dining room on the 8th floor next to the pool with exceptional views.

If being in Lastarria is very important and only location is what matters then go for it, else there are many better options at lower prices!
The rooms are decent if its a higher price double, but in the basic double room, the shower and toilet cubicle is right next to your bed without a seperate entrance! I have never seen a room construction like that ever, so god help you if you are sharing the room with a friend or family member, there is no privacy really even though there are glass doors. But both cubicles right next to the bed! BIZARRE! Rooms are also on darker side.
At $165-200, I dont think it is worth it at all just because of the location. Ubers are very cheap, farthest you go is $ 7, average is $2-5, so why pay ridiculous prices for this location? At under $150...maybe...
Breakfast too was average, nothing extraordinary, usual cold cuts, eggs, pastries, cereal..usual fare, nothing to write home about.
I did not interact with the staff at reception much, so many reviews praise them a lot, which may be justified, to be honest I cannot comment on that.
I would rather stay in a hotel like ICON in las condes, 5 dollars away, also with a mall, restaurants close by, may not be considered as "HAPPENING" an area, but will go with my large room, rooftop bar, large bathroom for $110!
My suggestion, find something of better value.

It’s a joke, they turn off AC during winter for saving money(I was told that by the people at the reception) my room was 27.8C, i couldn’t sleep, they told me to keep my window open and sorry for the noise they said. Shower takes around 5 min to warm up, seriously. Internet and TV don’t work and they say they are working on that all night long. Breakfast is not served until 8AM(if you need to work or visit somewhere nearby don’t count on it). Room is big, staff is polite, experience is frustrating

Information given on check in was not entirely accurate. We were advised of the restaurant on floor 8, but not that it wasn’t open for dinner - if you want dinner, there is a small, basic (and a bit cold) bar come eatery downstairs, otherwise you need to look elsewhere. But thankfully there are other restaurants close by, even though the uneven walkways are not well lit! No one escorted us to the room, so we needed to navigate our own way. We needed laundry done, and the form stated a 24 hour service with pick up before 0900. However we were told our laundry would be returned ‘sometime’ the following day - not in the 24 hours stated! On the plus side, our room was lovely, with a water filter for clean drinking water (which we had to find out about for ourselves), coffee machine and safe, and was spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast service was adequate, with good coffee, and lunch was lovely and the staff were very helpful.

Room Tip:Be aware, the ‘24 hour’ laundry service most certainly is not.

The hotel has a modern, chic atmosphere in a very central location from which to explore Santiago. There are numerous restaurants on the doorstep and a beautiful park just a few steps away. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable but the small semi-open plan bathroom is a bit of a faff. They have a beautiful restaurant where they serve a fantastic breakfast but I don’t think they serve any other meals there. The staff are incredibly friendly and really try to be helpful.
Amenities are somewhat lacking or could be better managed. They have the space for a great rooftop bar but they don’t serve drinks upstairs. The beautiful bar area in the lobby closes at 9pm - seriously!!! I would definitely not recommend any of the spa treatments as they don’t have a spa - all treatments are done in one of the hotel rooms. It was so unprofessional I still can’t believe I didn’t just walk out.

This hotel is extremely well situated, it is spotless, the staff are absolutely lovely. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and we appreciated the advice of the helpful staff to visit local restaurants and attractions. There’s a water filter in each room, very helpful indeed. The beds were extremely comfortable. The shower was excellent with body wash, conditioner and moisturiser provided. There’s a coffee maker and a big TV. There is AC. The hotel is quiet and yet is in a great spot. We would 100% recommend this hotel. Axel in particular was extremely helpful with advising us on local places to visit.

We stayed at Hotel Cumbres Lastarria and had a mixed experience—some fantastic aspects, but also some surprising letdowns.
Pros:
✅ Excellent Location – Right in Lastarria, close to parks, restaurants, and places to explore. Perfect for walking around. ✅ Brilliant Rooftop Pool – Great for lounging and taking in the city views. ✅ Good Breakfast Selection – The buffet had a wide variety—though not great if you’re vegan. ✅ Nice Room Amenities – The water machine in the rooms was a thoughtful touch. ✅ Friendly Staff – The team was welcoming, though the entrance felt a little intimidating at first.
Cons:
❌ Not Vegan-Friendly – Very limited options if you have dietary restrictions. ❌ Rooms Feel Stuck in the 1970s – It’s as if they renovated the rest of the hotel and forgot about the rooms and hallways. The decor is shockingly outdated and doesn’t match the quality of the public areas.
Tips for Santiago
🚗 Do a day trip to Cajón del Maipo – Book it yourself through GetYourGuide or similar; the hotel’s offer was insanely expensive. 🏙️ City Lacks a Wow Factor of others like say Rio but is is great – 2-3 days is plenty before moving on. 🌄 Catch the Views – • Cerro San Cristóbal for panoramic city views. • Sky Costanera for a 360° perspective of Santiago. 🍔 Try a Barros Luco – A simple but iconic Chilean sandwich with beef and melted cheese. Fuente Alemana is the best place to try it!
Neighborhood Impressions
📍 Barrio Italia (South) – Charming, with great restaurants. 📍 Barrio Bellavista (North) – Less charming, more nightlife-focused. 📍 Providencia (Northeast) – Touristy but pleasant. 📍 Centro (East) – Skip it unless you want to see government buildings—not much else there.
The location and rooftop pool make this hotel a solid choice, but the outdated rooms really hold it back. If you care more about common spaces and location, you’ll enjoy it—but if room quality matters, you may want to look elsewhere.
⭐ Rating: 3.5/5 Would I stay again? Only if they renovate the rooms.

There are a lot of things to like about this charming hotel. The location is excellent, close to the shops and restaurants and street market of Lastarria. The historic center is walkable, as is the Bella Vista neighborhood, and San Cristobal Hill. But it is not perfect.
We were unable to check in early, but were told an upgraded room was available at an extra $50 a night. We declined that option. Once checked in, we found our room was spacious and well appointed for the price, not sure what an "upgrade" would have entailed. The bed was large and very comfortable, it seemed even bigger than a US king. Water pressure in the shower was good, and the amenities were nice. Towels were plush and plentiful. There were plenty of outlets, a minibar and a good tv. Housekeeping was excellent.
The hotel includes a nice free breakfast, although we went out the first day as we were not informed about the breakfast at check-in. There is an omelet station, and I recommend opting for that over the scrambled eggs. Most days sautéed vegetables were offered in lieu of fried potatoes - the latter making an appearance once during our stay. I would recommend trying the coffee machine, as the jug coffee served by the staff was not very good. The usual cold breakfast meats and pastries were available, as well as fruits and juices, etc.
The small pool is accessed from a stairway near the breakfast area - but we did not use it.
Interactions with the staff were generally good. My complaint is with the air conditioning, which was not able to cool the room below about 25.5C (about 78 degrees Fahrenheit). Although the days were hot, nights cooled down and our room was warmer than the outside air on some of the nights. I mentioned this to the staff and it was not fixed. We stayed one night in an airport hotel, and its AC was much better.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but better a/c would have been appreciated.

One more thing, the hotel is perfectly located and I'm sure you like the surrounded area. I was there on January 2019 and you will find very delicious Icecream shops close by you need to pass and enjoy it :)
There are more places to choose from in the Santiago area.
