This 4* star hotel was okay but did not deliver a 4* star experience. WiFi was poor and for part of my stay was completely broken. Breakfast was okay but basic. Rooms were big but lacked tea/coffee making facilities and ironing board. Decor was shabby in many places. However, location and views were both excellent.

This is an average business hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are very good and the shower was excellent, so with a decent breakfast I was happy to stay here while working at one of the universities in Santiago.
The problem arose when I asked for a late check out - only by two hours so I could work until my cab arrived to take me to the airport. Here the inflexibility and lack of customer focus really appeared. The answer was a flat refusal and the receptionist simply insisted that 12:00 was the time and there were no exceptions. I pushed a little further and was told that the hotel was fully booked for the evening so there was no possibility of a late check out. This was not true as the hotel was selling rooms for that evening on both Trip Advisor and Booking.com.
So what do we conclude? That the hotel can't be bothered to help? Probably. That the well-intentioned staff are constrained by an inflexible management? Probably. That the rude, surly, no eye-contact woman at check out was the manager? Probably.
With the huge number of hotels in Santiago and with a brand new hotel nearing completion just opposite I found this approach very interesting.
So, what else do we conclude? That you should look at other hotels before booking this one? Probably. That hotels driven by mediocrity are fine until you want something? Probably.
Just a pity that I should have to finish my stay like this. Stuck in the lobby trying to work.

Great location, friendly staff, spacious rooms with a good view. Comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast was delicious lots of choice. One downside was the hotel shuttle service, we were offered one option at 7am for a late afternoon flight.

I guess the best thing I can say is that it's a good location. Lots of great restaurant options nearby. Two Metro stops within a short walk. Other than that, I would NOT go back or recommend it given alternatives in the immediate vicinity. The hotel is very "worn out" and dreary. Holes in the carpet, the damage to furniture that happens over time. The shower rod in the bathroom separated resulting in a sagging shower curtain. The room is adequate but really basic. Buffet breakfast is standard, mediocre buffet breakfast. I wasn't tempted to eat other meals at the lobby restaurant based on the quality of breakfast. My biggest problem was that there is no reliable internet. I either couldn't connect to the WiFi at all or would lose the connection in the middle of something. I mentioned this at the front desk and the response was, "No one else has complained."

25min to get an elevator going up or down. Terrible service from the restaurant. Terrible wi-fi. On the first day there was no hot water on the shower. 20min to do a simple checkout....the list just doesn't stop. Do not stay there.

This is a copy of my email to DAHOTELES, about the way they treat me during my days in Santiago. I would say to all my friends and family: DONT STAY IN THIS HOTEL.

"Good afternoon.

My name is Inara and this is my third time in Santiago. This time should be very special, cause I'm with my mommy and she never traveled abroad.

When I arrived at your hotel, I was prepared to pay in my check in with pesos, all the bill. And then, the reception told me I would pay in dollars, cause it would be less expensive (without 19%). They tryed to pass in my credit card as a garantee.. but I forbidedto make an autorization to use my card abroad before my trip. So, I payed 80.000 pesos (the first night and more 5000 pesos) to garantee the payment. It was ok. Many hotels do like this. But they said I would pay all the rest in the day tomorrow.. in pesos or in dollars.

When I leave the hotel in the day after my check in, I said in the reception I would go with my mommy for many places and, when I come back, I would pay. And they said ok.

When I came back, at 3 pm, I said to the girl in the reception that I would go upstairs to take the money and come back to pay.

But what a surprise! My room card was blocked and I couldn't go inside. I came downstairs and the reception said It was because I didnt pay, in front of another client.. and he was laughing of me. Of course.. I became angry...

And then.. When I came back to my room.. I received a call... I guy trying to explain all the situation, but talking with me as I was trying to stay here and dont pay. How embarissing! In front of my mommy!

Im here at you hotel. Posting this email in my instagram and facebook. So all my friends can see what Im passing here. And choose better their hotels in their trips to Santiago; and Im making an avaliation in booking.com, trip advisor.

I think nobody should pass this.

Congrats for the way you treat your clients.

Inara Borges."

It's a very nice hotel, but please, keep your waiting modus on! They did not let us check in at 11 o'clock in de morning, without paying an extra night. So we decided to check in the evening. Big mistake, the line of people went outside. So we went for dinner. After we came back at 23 hrs, guess what? I am waiting for almost half an hour. Well, it gives me time to write this.

The good points are that the room was large and clean and the hotel was well located. And it was very reasonable. However, not to have a CNN English News channel in this day and age was a surprise to us. We have been all over the world and always found an English channel for news. Also the breakfast was not very good and they seemed to have trouble keeping up with the demand on the buffet. The gal at the taxi stand was helpful. Most people did not speak English well. I would not stay there again.

The Santiago Providencia is by far the worst of the group for Customer Service.
As part of a Birdwatching group travelling the length of Chile staying at numerous Diego hotels. We depart most mornings by 6.30am.Every morning breakfast at 6am is a battle. We are aware that breakfast service begins at 6.30am and we have therefore requested pack breakfasts.
Depending on the person who is manning reception, we have been allowed to sit in the restaurant in the dark, told to eat in the lobby or in fact this morning no breakfast at all was provided.
All we ask is that tea/coffee/milk is provided with our very mediocre packed breakfast! This is not happening.
The staff are not interested in customer service. Not a pleasant stay!

The rooms were good, convenient to the airport. There was a bar and restaurant, good breakfast. It was clean. Nice little pool which was great since it was HOT! Friendly staff. It was really nothing super special but it was good enough.
