Room was overlooking the sea with its own private terrace. Well positioned on the Allegre hill near many restaurants and mural art. Lovely atmosphere created by conversion seven years ago from grand old house giving a light and airy feel. Service friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet election good with excellent Italian coffee maker. Felt really personal..

So, my dear wife and I stayed at the Acontraluz Hotel this week. In 3 words, we loved it. Situated in a quiet street but still in Cerro Alegre, the building itself has a lot of charm and is stylishly decorated. The breakfast is generous with breads, eggs, jams and hams. But most of all, the people at "HA" are...

We only managed to squeeze a day and two nights in Valparaiso on our trip. This hotel is unique - formerly a home with beautiful furniture stylish individual rooms. Ours on the top floor had a terrace with great views over the bay. There's no lift but if that doesn't cause you a problem it's a great hotel. Breakfasts are...

Great place, great staff. Stayed for a weekend with wife and she was delighted. We had a great time in the city, night life and restaurants are also very good. Although the city is suffering from a bit of urban decay and that's a pity. I would recommend this hotel as one of the best hotels in Valparaíso and one...

A unique experience in the bohemian barrio of Alegre, Valparaiso. Panoramic views across the bay, the city below and the city to the south revealing the variety in accommodation and environments. The hotel is full of charm and the staff are without exception lovely and helpful. They speak English or indulge your Spanish. Our room was capacious and comfortable with...

We picked this hotel based on the reviews in writings from TripAdvisor. That was a fantastic choice for us from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The inside of this Boutique Hotel is just beautiful. Remember, it is very small and not by any stretch of the imagination a chain hotel. If that is what your looking...

This hotel wins on all counts. A beautiful historic building, fabulous views over the Pacific, pleasant helpful friendly staff who made excellent dining recommendations.Rooms and public areas are furnished with antique/older furniture appropriate to building.Great location with lots to do nearby. Only (small) quibble was that wi-fi was often 'sketchy'.

We stayed at this small hotel in March. It has been converted from 2 original homes and all the common spaces were beautifully decorated with antiques, etc. Breakfast was available in the breakfast area or out on the terrace with views looking over Valparaiso. We stayed in Room 305 which had a marvelous terrace of it's own with outstanding views...

We stayed in this Hotel after researching TA and it was a great find. I use the term find loosely as due to a very odd SatNav in our car we more or less stumbled across the Hotel despite the SatNav rather than due to it. Valparaiso is like a rabbit warren for those who have never been there and...

This is a lovely, classic hotel in the perfect tourist section of Valparaiso. Excellently maintained, we had a large comfortable room with an amazing balcony view of the bay and surrounding hills. The reception people were very helpful in orienting us for walking around the city, finding terrific restaurants, giving suggestions of where and when to go. The included breakfast...
