The sister that owned this place were great, their breakfast was excellent, the location was a little difficult to find due to road repair and location in the hills, provided a beautiful view of the city and harbor. The room was very clean and well decorated. The owners were very helpful and open to a change I wish to make....

We stayed at The Grand House for three nights after a cruise. If you are looking for something homely and out of the ordinary this the place for you. It's so lovely old house that is located near the top of one of the many hills in Valparaiso, so the views of the city and ocean are wonderful. Doris and...

When our taxi driver dropped off us a few doors from the Grand House (due to parked cars on the narrow street and some temporary road construction) we were a bit nervous, not knowing if we were in the right place. The door was locked when we knocked but we were soon welcomed by the twins who run this bed...

This place is run by two young sisters. It is an old house but very charming and well appointed with antiques. The house of towards the top of one of Valparaiso's 42 hills so the access is very steep. The breakfast was very good and the conversations with the sisters were very informative. The view from our room and the...

Doris and her sister will make your stay in Valparaiso a visit to remember. Their house is different but was to my liking. The rooms are clean, neat and tidy. I chose one with a bathroom. Getting to the house can be a problem. I noted the directions given by an earlier visitor. " Go south on Francia past Colon...

When we arrived and were dropped off by the taxi from Santiago our first greeting was welcome what can we get you to drink. Wonderful coffees later and we turned round and the 2 ladies had moved our cases (heavy) into a beautiful room. We sat out on the patio overlooking Valparaiso whilst Doris informed us on the best places...

I enjoyed my time there (just one night), but this may not be your cup of tea! This is an old, beautiful house adapted into a bed and breakfast, I had a nice night, good sleep and really enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts! Here is the "but" part.... it is in a residential neighborhood, typical of Valparaiso, and so...

My friend Pam and I booked this b and b based only one the pictures. The family who owns this house is very interesting and provided us with a wonderful room and a beautiful breakfast experience. However, the house was in the worst neighborhood in town and stepping outside any time of the day was an adventure. No restaurants, shops,...

We never even stayed. First of all, a trip to Valparaiso is better spent staying on Happy or Concepcion Hills. These are with easy walking distance to sights and restaurants. This house is far away, and in a very dingy area of Valparaiso. When we got there, we were immediately concerned that the location was not as described, and our...

3 years after the strong earthquake (see review 2010) we returned for 5 days. The young ladies Carolina and Doris manage the hotel in an old mansion with antique Chilean furniture and antique items decorated with love by their mother. The house (all rooms with own seperate bathroom TV, refrigerator) is very clean, renovated, free internet; international guests (e.g. many...
