My husband and I stayed at Quito Cultural 5 nights and were impressed with the very friendly and attentive service. The hostal is in an old historic building and has funky art work all over. Its within easy walking distance of everything in the historical district, and also many bus lines. They provided a taxi pickup at the airport when...

The owner Matheus has been incredibly kind and welcoming. He helped us arrange tours to Otavalo and Cotopaxi at a very short notice. The hostel is very simple but clean and quirky and has everything you need eg hot water, central location in the old town and good wifi connection. A special mention to Gisela who made us hearty breakfast...

Centrally located near the historic district. It's only a 5 minute walk from the Government Palace. It is up on a hill and can get tiring walking up and down but central district is all on hills. The rooms were very spacious and I really liked the terrace view of the city. Mateos was amazing host! Really nice and super...

A few days before our arrival a welcome email signaled this was going to be a great place and the taxi met us at the airport as promised. We loved our stay Mateus and his team welcomed and looked after us superbly. Out our window the basilica and the main walkway to independence square. The building could not have been...

I had one night in Quito and needed a hotel in a central and safe location as a solo female traveler. I found this hostel to be a good choice. The hotel manager was pretty friendly upon arrival. My room was a good size with two double beds, but the TV did not work. The walls are pretty thin, so...

Clean, safe and has a great central location. View from the top floor is amazing. There is not a ton of English spoken in Quito, but the guy who works there speaks decent English. The woman there is very sweet, but no English. There is onsite laundry service but it was a little pricey (But priceless after a week of...

The guy working here is super friendly and speaks English very well. The breakfast is amazing (fried eggs, fruit, delicious bread and cheese). The location Is perfect for exploring old town. Our room was very clean and had plenty of shelf space and surface area for our stuff. They give you towels and lots of soap but not shampoo or...

Firstly, if it's the historic centre you're looking for, this is a great place to base yourself in Quito in terms of price, location and staff. The staff were very helpful particularly around safety tips in the area and there is a nice, homely feel about the hostal. Our room was small enough in size, facing out on the street...

Hostal Quito Cultural is a quaint though worn down hostel in the historic district of Quito, a great place from which to base one's exploration of the city. Rooms are relatively small though comfortable as are the beds. Availability of hot water can vary depending on who else is using water or showering at the same time. Breakfast comes with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hostal Quito Cultural born of a XVIII century building at the hands of a French architect, this house currently consists as a heritage of Barrio San Marcos the oldest in Quito. With a rich pre-Columbian history, the capital of Ecuador was founded on the ruins of an Inca city, but offers everything a modern traveler may need. Still one of the best preserved historical sites in Latin America and the UNESCO declared world heritage. The location of the hostel is convenient because it allows travelers to move around the old Quito and know all the baroque jewels, like the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, as well as the church and the college of the Company. The hostel rooms have all the amenities to make guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their holiday as they deserve, our main seal of the fraternity is offered by our staff. ... more   less
