The owners, husband and wife, Bolivar and Cydia, were by far, one of the most polite, friendly, helpful, accommodating, and respectful hosts I have ever dealt with in the many hostels in the many countries I have visited. The rooms are cleaned. They offer food. The WiFi is a little slow, but fast enough when compared to other WiFi in...

The hot water is unreliable. The internet is unreliable as well. Be sure to carry your own key because anyone could pick it up. Also they occasionally "forget" to clean your room. Location is good but there are other choices in the area.

Reasonably priced, freindly, sparkling cleaned rooms with fresh towels each day (although it seems unessary to give you new soap as well) and a good shower. Big, fully equipped communal kitchen and common area. Unfortunately, one night I woke up and our room stank of cigarette smoke as someone decided to puff all their fags in the no smoking area...

We paid 30$ for a double bed room with private bathroom, hot shower, decent wifi and tv. Looks much nicer on the inside to be honest. There's a bar and restaurant. Great location, only a few minutes walk to the plaza. Well worth it.

Our flight was so early the next morning that we were going to have to get up at 2:30, so we just wanted a cheap place to drop our stuff and possibly take a nap. We got our own room for $8 per person. The bathroom was in the hall but we didn't use the shower. For us, it was...

If you don't pay much then don't expect too much,It all looks well and good from the outside but in my opinion it goes down hill once you walk inside. The worst bit has to be the bathrooms,no hot water in the sink plus it was loose, peeling paint from the walls and mould forming from the damp air,and a near...

The price is a bit more than you will pay for other places on the block, but it is well worth it. The staff was friendly, always willing to go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. A security door at the entrance and as well-locked rooms made us feel very safe. The food was great, (breakfast included and...

The hostal Imperial is located in close proximity to the lively Mariscal area in Quito (3 minutes by foot). It offers everything the budget traveler could think of: clean and reasonably spacious 2-5 bed rooms for little money, high security and trustworthiness, hot and running water at all times, in short, everything the Western tourist would want. We enjoyed staying...

“Our room had a little balcony and there were four bunk beds, but they gave us the room for a total of $16 when we explained we had to get up early and leave for the airport. They also had room when other places were full. The balcony was nice, but I don't know if other rooms have that.”
