Lovely, cosy little hotel in north Quito. Located in a quiet residential/embassy area, it's a quick walk to a number of restaurants and other amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast is adequate, if a bit sparse. The rooms are also quite basic, but comfortable and safe.

This hotel has only 11 rooms, and is reputedly the site of the former British Embassy. Each of the four of us traveling together had a room facing the garden courtyard. Rooms are not large but clean and adequate with clean bathrooms. The beds are firm; there is no heat or A/C, but the temperate climate doesn't require them. Wi-Fi...

This hotel is located in a quiet area of Quito. It is not really near too much, except for the Casa de Cultura and a park. It is a good long walk to either the Mariscal or the Centre of the city. If I were to go to Quito again, I would choose a hotel near the centre, where there...

I really enjoyed my five night stay at Hotel Cartuja. As a single female I felt really safe. the gate and front door are locked at all times and the staff have to open them to let guests in. It is located walking distance from Plaza Foch without being impacted by any noise. Close also to the area around park...

Hotel La Cartuja is ideal for couples and families. The rooms are clean and well set out. You can relax in the private garden. Staff are always on hand to help you solve your travel problems. Situated close to the old and new parts of the city, this can be just the place you need for your holiday.

This is a nice little hotel. What stood out the most for us was the staff working at the reception. They are very friendly and helpful. The lady at reception even went out of her way to help with my delayed bag, which still hadn't turned up at 10pm, and I had to leave for a Galapagos tour at 6...

As we stayed there either side of a trip to the Galapagos this hostel/hostel was great. Rooms a little cold but beds were comfortable and snug. Bathrooms a little small but everything very clean. There is a central courtyard which is lovely. The internet isn't that strong but there is a PC you can use. Security is great and we...

Hotel staff very accommodating. Storage room available to store luggage if going on an extended tour. Room was clean Located close to main street so walking to sights was easy attainable. Taxis right the front door. Gate was always locked so felt security was not an issue.

A lovely stay with family of friends. The kind hosts were helpful and accommodating to the needs of our large group (11). The hotel looks and feels like a large home. The rooms are interesting and clean. This was the favourite spot of all the hotels we were in on our 16 day Galapagos trip.

We stayed 2 nights in Hotel La Cartuja, Quito in April 2015. The hotel is centrally located and close to the center. How the rooms are set up, you feel like at home. Rooms are clean and fine for the standard (we rate it as a 3 stars hotel). More important, the staff are very friendly and helpfull. They have...
