Hostal Alcalá was a great option during my visit to Quito. Well located, good basic facilities, clean, friendly staff and great breakfast. It was definitely a great option. Free internet access and staff was able to help us organize a great tour with a guide within a few hours.

I needed a cheap place to stay for one night and this was perfect. $20 for a double bed and private bathroom in the very center of Quito. Owner gave all the necessary information at check in, I was left with no questions. Very hot shower and strong wifi connection. Perfect!

If you want low end, budget accommodations, this is probably the place at $20 a night. Jorge, while initially abrupt, warmed up and was kind enough to put the kettle on for me. We spoke in Spanish, so I am not sure whether he speaks English. The public areas are nice and cheerful but my room was dumpy - moldy... More

My husband and I stayed for one night at hostal alcala. We were in room 12 which is on the upper floor and is nice - has a patio area in front of it, and the room gets good natural light (I hate staying in dark rooms). The room is basic but has everything you need including wifi and TV.... More
