I had a very lovely and comfortable stay at Casa Carpe DM. Thanks to its good location the city center is in walking distance and two houses from the hostal there is a great place to get affordable lunch. In comparison to the other well-reviewed hostels, Casa Carpe DM is further away from the market place, which especially at night is a sketchy and not that safe area ow town. Therefore, I felt safe at this hostel. Especially, I want to highlight the amazing staff - Fernanda and her daughter who manage the hostel are extremely professional, have the best recommendations and contacts as well as they are very great people with lots of knowledge, good values and speak perfectly English. They are always trying to make the guests feels as comfortable as possible and have inspiring ideas. Furthermore, the rooms are super, clean and the kitchen area and community space provide with a great view over Quito and everything you need in a kitchen. We loved this hostel - we stayed twice ! At the beginning for 5 nights and before we left for 2. It’s extremely well run - Fernanda & her daughter are so helpful- a fount of knowledge - and take great care for your safely. Its communal kitchen is well set up and overlooks the city and is gently sociable. The downstairs area is nice to chill or even do some stretching!! Breakfasts are really good too. Another benefit is they operate a great selection of affordable small bus tours - as we couldn’t make the day for Mindo - Fernanda organised a bespoke tour for us at a similar price. Everyone we spoke to enjoyed their tours made through the hostel. It’s 10 mins walk into heart of old town and San Blas area has a number of nice eateries including the Officina micro brewery, a pizza place run by a lively Columbian and the arepas cafe just up hill. We felt really looked after - it’s a hostel with a heart - part of their profits go to their own inspiring children’s charity.…

I loved everything about our 3 night stay (20 pax) at Casa CarpeDm. I couldn't have imagined a better place and a better way to start the new year in Quito. The whole staff is so helpful and sweet. I will definitely go back with my groups. Thank you so much, Fernanda.

This is a 0ne stop do everything kind of place because they arrange the tours and trsnspertation at a ver reasonable price! I do not speak Spanish! They arranged several tours for me and they were all very beautiful places. I felt safe all of the time in their care. The room was clean. They did my laundry a couple of times. They arranged for transport to the airport.. The staff go above and beyond for you! I look forward to returning .

I stayed here for 4 nights in August. I didn't have any set plans for my time in Quito, so Fernanda helped me create a plan of activities and places to see which I really appreciated. The rooms quite spacious for the price, and the place is very clean. I felt very welcome here and would stay here again if I ever returned to Quito!

Carpe DM is an excellent hostel, very close to the centre of Quito and among the best during our tour of Ecuador. Cozy atmosphere, very clean, spacious and great shower. All that at a low price. More than worth every penny.

I stayed in march a week in casa carpedm in Quito and had an amazing time. The Rooms are clean and comfortable and the location for exploring quito is very good. But what this stay made special is the great hospitality of Fernanda the Hotel-Manager. She is so warm hearted and made me feel welcome from the very first moment. She helped me a lot with planing my trip with her big knowledge about ecuador and all the important spots to see. Don't hesitate to go there - you wont regret!

We had an amazing time at the Casa CarpeDM and would recommend the hostal to everyone staying in Quito! The rooms are nice and clean, with everything you need and warm blankets for the cold nights. There is a community room upstairs with a wonderful view of Quito. You can get a good breakfast with eggs, fruit and Juice for just 3$. Best of all is the friendliness of the staff. From minute one we felt so welcomed. The owner Fernanda is amazing, she took us on a tour through Quito and helped with everything!

I was traveling with my dad in Ecuador, and found this place accidentally. Totally in the center (old city). Quiet, clean and perfect for couples/ families/ father and son trips. Fernanda is the nicest and the warmest person, she always wanted to help and they have their own travel agency and the knowledge to help and organize almost every trip or adventure you want to do. We were in Quito 3 times during our trip in Ecuador and every single time we chose in CarpaDM family. If you feel like you want to be in the middle of the business but yet to stay in a quiet and warm place, this is the place for you. You won’t regret!

This hostel is wonderful. It’s clean and comfortable with excellent WiFi and a kitchen. The rooms are large and it has hot water in the en suite showers. It’s very reasonable too. The owner is wonderful and so helpful and kind. I was there during curfews and she helped me get to the airport at 3am. It’s a ten minute walk to the centre and a half hour walk to La Floresta, an arty area with lovely restaurants but taxis are cheap and easy to get to anywhere. Quito has a lot to offer. It’s much quieter than other hostels too. There are a few good local restaurants on the street. I would definitely recommend this hostel, it’s more like a hotel.
