No frills hostel, nice part of town lots of good eating places - spacious room with balcony overlooking the city. $20 with private bathroom - good hot shower. Dirty shared kitchen nothing to light stove with. Next to a very noisy bar so got little sleep.

The hostel is located at a very central place in Cuenca with nice view at the terrase and even so it is really cheap. They got kitchen, which can be more equipped (not enough dishes..) The owners are not around most of the Time so make sure to get a way to contact them in case something goes wrong or...

A view makes all the difference! And this hostal has it. So many hostels in Cuenca are built around a central 'well' and have no view and not much light. Not this one, plenty of both. Clean and friendly with Wilson and Esperanza, great relaxing and cooking optiions at a low price in an excellent location overlooking the Rio Tomebamba...

I stayed several nights here and while I like the room layout and LOVE the area, view and friendly staff; the hostal feels very run down in several ways. It's certainly old and creeky, has really cheap beds/pillows/sheets and very few dishes in the kitchen. All of the dish rags are very dirty. You are given toilet paper for your...

WIlson, the friendly owner lives across the street. The room was clean, comfortable, had a balcony with a view of the river. We stayed for 3 or 4 nights, and have no complaints. I read some concers about security, we didn´t have any. The place was quiet at nights.

We stayed in this hostal for three months (sept-dec) during our time in Cuenca while we were working on voluntary projects. It is only one of few hostals with a kitchen, which you can use without restrictions. The kitchen is on the top floor. There are a lot of pots and pans, the only real thing missing is a good...

After having to go across the street to even find who to talk to about a room, we ended up in the loudest hallway - complete with crying babies. We were stuck with a shared bathroom set up because it was apparently full (we saw no other people…). For this set up they usually give you toilet paper but I...

Stayed here for 4 nights in July. There are lots of positive things about this hostal - location is excellent, rooms are big and bright. We stayed on the top floor in the room called Cuenca and it looked like it had been recently refurbished. Owners who live across the road are both very nice. I wouild like to give...
