Cuenca is a lovely city and this hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are available in the garden as well as in the main hotel. We had a marvelous lunch here and breakfasts were very good, too, with eggs prepared to your request. The front door is kept locked and you must press the doorbell so that someone...

This small, but very elegant hotel is perfectly located in the heart of colonial Cuenca near the cathedral. Staff was very friendly, room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast options could be better. I had some issues at check out, but nothing that cannot be resolved. I recommend!!!

We only spent one night here, but we thoroughly enjoyed the stay at this boutique hotel. After a long drive down the Pan-American highway, it was a relief to have such comfort. The staff were excellent, really helpful -- and arranged a visit from a doctor within 15 minutes of our arrival -- pretty impressive. The room was quiet and...

The hotel has a perfect location if you want to walk in the historical oart of the city. The rooms are large and clean, the common rooms have a nice atmosphere. The breakfast was varied and good. They could make an effort to soundproof the rooms as you can hear anyone speaking in the patio.

This hotel is beautiful in a very traditional Ecuadoran style. It contributed to making our stay special. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The facilities were well equipped, well care for and pretty. The staff could not have been more helpful. It was cold during our visit so hot water bottles were placed in our bed. The staff had excellent...

I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in a special way. Having been to the Alcazar a number of times, I knew that this would be the perfect place as both the ambience and service would be outstanding. As I made our dinner reservation, the concierge suggested that we come early as there would be a piano recital in the...

When we arrived at The Mansion Alcazar everything began to make sense. The plush lobby leading through an elegant seating area with a fountain, which lead to an exquisite garden with some of the most wonderful smelling flowers, and then our room. The room was furnished with taste and consideration to the needs of the guests. Bathrobes laid on the...

Stayed at Mansion Alcazar for 3 nights in June. Restored colonial mansion. There is an upscale restaurant on site and beautiful gardens in the back. Rooms were comfortable and had period antiques. Our room was a suite with a king size bed and had a separate sitting room with a fold out couch. This was useful as we had our...

We came across Mansion Alcazar while wondering around Cuenca. We only stopped in for a glass of wine but ended up staying for 2 hours once we discovered their gardens!!!!!! We ordered glasses of wine and moved out into the gardens to enjoy the sunshine and were totally taken aback by the lovely setting and the hummingbirds which came to...
