Stayed a few nights here in September - originally meant to have been at a nearby hostel apparently owned by a relative of the owner of Cacique but as a guest there was sick, they had to use our room an extra night - Fair enough, we were initially happy to move... ...this hostel was a disappointment -- I have...

We chose this place as it was in Lonely Planet - we were very disappointed. The location was good and the room was a good size but very run down with peeling paint and a saggy bed. When we wanted to go out in the evening the front door was padlocked - the owner had gone out and locked us...

We spent three nights here at the end of May, and it was fine. The location is very good, and our hosts were friendly. The rooftop terrace was not especially well maintained, but it was a nice place to go. The room was usually quiet, except when it wasn't--people talking in the hallway came through loud and clear. No breakfast,...

We really felt at home in this safe and very well located hotel in central Arequipa. Don Jose and Alfonso were great, welcoming, helpful and all the sights, attractions and restaurants they recommended were awesome. It was a pleasure staying there!

My friends and I had been bouncing from one Peruvian city until the next until we arrived in Arequipa. One friend had a bad case of stomach troubles that was still resolving from the day before. We arrived early in the morning- way before check in- with the hope that the hostel would give our friend a bed to rest...

Only 6 minutes walk from the beautiful Plaza Armas, and 2 minutes from the Monasterio Santa Catalina (a MUST visit). Hostel is on 1st floor above the shops up a steep security gated set of stairs. My daughter and I had booked 2 singles ensuite, but these weren't ready (our fault we got there too early) so we had a...

A family-run hostel in the center of Arequipa. Great advices on tours in and around the city from Alfonso in order to meet your budget. Everybody working here is very friendly. Good hostel for pricing.

My husband and I spent a couple of nights in La Posada del Cacique in September 2010. The place is a family business run by very friendly and helpful people. The rooms are basic, but cosy, the bathrooms are basic, but there is hot water available all the time. There is a small kitchen facility. The roof terrace is a...

I stayed here with 5 other friends (3 couples) for a few nights. They were pretty accomodating and flexible with us, because we'd booked 3 rooms for 3 nights, but then wanted to cancel last minute the second night only. They let us leave all of our stuff there for a night while we went to Colca Canyon, for a...
