The hostel was in a great location on a relatively quiet street, right across from the Santa Catalina monastery. Large room and comfortable bed, but no real atmosphere in the hostel. There weren't any other travelers there at the same time so no "hostel vibe". There was only one staff member there and he really didn't speak with us much...

The hostel is well placed close to Sta Catalina and the center, and the staff is really cool ! The best hostel we had so far in the whle Peru. Chess board, good billard and the view is really nice from the top of the hostel where you can drink beers amd chill.

This place is ok, it's has good beds and showers. Breakfast is not included but they offer kitchen, anyway there's several places nearby to have it. I think some painting and decoration can improve this place and make it cozy. I've seen some old pics and it has a lot of potential.

If you are looking for a reasonable, safe and central location to stay in Arequipa, you can not go to far wrong when in comes to Scandinavia House, 314 Calle Ugarte. From around £5 per person, to be so close to the centre (two blocks) and in a tranquil street is amazing. There are rooms with small balconies overlooking the...

This great hostal is located near the Plaza de arma and offers a superb open courtyard. The rooms are clean and the beds are surprisingly (because we've slept in other hostal before arriving to Arequipa) very confortable. There is an amazing room view of the mountains surrounding Arequipa. The owner is so welcoming and helpful. They are very accommodating which...

An international mine and energy convention was happening in Arequipa, Peru, we were coming for one night after, Titicaca Lake and Inca trail, exhausted and full of bags. The Scandinavia House sent us an email promising us a room in a near hotel since they were overbooked. We arrived at a "House" being painted, not a Hostal facility. The manager brought...

Only a couple of blocks from the Plaza. Our first time at a hostal and would stay again. This is a very laid back place so it's great if you are too. Owners were helpful with restaurant recommendations and shopping tips. We lived meeting new people a d getting to know the kids.

On our first day we arrived at the hostel and stood outside ringing the bell for 20 minutes.... no answer. We walked around the town for a bit with our rucksacks and went back an hour later and managed to get in this time. We were hoping to meet other travellers but for the 3 nights we stayed we were...
