We picked this hotel from reading other reviews on Trip adviser and are very glad we did. We have a 5 yr old and he really enjoyed the GARDEN AND YARD area to watch the Turtle and talk to people and run and play. The staff are some of the most accommodating hotel people I have ever met. The room...

I stayed at Casa de Avila last weekend with two friends. The hotel staff was accommodating when we arrived late, however a miscommunication caused my friend to miss his scheduled trip up Misti. Nevertheless, the staff tried to make up for the mishap by giving us discounted prices and a late check out (there was hardly anyone else staying there)....

I lived in Arequipa for approximately 4 months and stayed here when I first arrived with my husband. Arequipa is an amazing city although the very centre and the streets around the Plaza de Armas can be really noisy. That is part of what makes Casa de Avila a great place to stay. The garden is a tranquil retreat away...

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room was great and the courtyard outside was fantastic. We can't say enough about the staff, they were excellent - very helpful and we enjoyed utilizing our Spanish with them. The breakfast was great and the coffee was excellent. We recommend this hotel and the price is very reasonable. The location is...

This was possibly my favourite place to stay in Peru. After a long and uncomfortable bus journey, seeing the huge garden and big room was a breath of fresh air! There is also a cute tortoise residing in the garden. The shower was among the best, plenty of hot water. The staff made us feel welcome. I think this is...

Nice furniture and a great-sized bath, I was really impressed with the room quality. Not to mention the gorgeous courtyard with the adorable tortoise wandering around! Breakfast here was fantastic- great spread...

Angela is very good in teaching Spanish, we really enjoyed her positive attitude and professional teaching, we learned a lot! We first had another teacher, which we were not happy with and the school immediately let us switch to Angela, which we appreciated.

As mentioned in a previous review, I spent 3 weeks studying Spanish at the Arequipa Spanish school housed here. We did a home stay for most of the time but stayed in the hotel a few nights and also worked closely with the hotel staff for school related things as well as travel planning for our time in Peru. The...

I stayed here, meeting my sister who had be volunteering in Arequipa for 6 months. I can't rate this hotel highly enough given the price. Sister couldn't either and she'd been there fore 5 months! Free wifi internet, and although basic the rooms were clean, with beautiful gardens.

“The wifi doesn't work when the hotel is full so go out to the front desk area if you need to use internet. We splurged for the king room which was awesome as my wife and I are both tall people; it was nice to have a normal size bed in a country where double beds are the norm. The king room also came with two large storage closets and a mini fridge!”
