Only because we met other backpackers who was gonna stay at Frankenstein, we found out about this unique gem of a Hostel. The Hostel itself is quite retro, filled with funny personality, a lot of warmth, a fireplace and mystique jungleplants everywhere. Said in another way, you can spend ours studying the way the owner has decorated this lovely spot....

We agree with many of the other reviews and they've already said it. Ludwig is great. He has given us the best, detailed information in our 14 months travel. He is honest and funny and always wanting to make sure you have what you need. We started in the large downstairs room - Mary Shelly. Yes..it is dark and gloomy...

Such a nice hostel with the friendliest owner I have ever met. He is always present and will help you out with all your questions (in Spanish/English/German). The hostel itself is a little bit quirky since it is decorated entirely in the Frankenstein theme but the price is very fair since it is located so close to the centre. Rooms...

My best hostel stay during 3 month trip in Peru. The owner Ludwig is so great and helpful. Prices are lower than many dorm beds in Cusco. Highly recommended if you are in budget trip and spending time in Cusco. Thanks Ludwig

Frankenstein has everything a great hotel should have: Handy central location, clean rooms and kitchen, breakfast, all-day coffee/tea, friendly atmosphere, hot showers, fireplace, fast wifi, etc. On top of all that, Frankenstein has Ludwig. He is the most helpful, informative, and friendly hostel owner I've met in ten countries. He provided the best and most concise information on Machu Picchu...

This hostel was brilliant value for money: clean, central location, with one of the most comfortable beds ever (perfect for recovering after the Inca Trail!), hot showers, a kitchen and really helpful staff. We were allowed to leave bags there while we did the Inca trail. Would definitely recommend!!

Such a lovely hostel. There are loads of quirky things around the place and it is filled with plants. There is a log fire and a nice kitchen so the place feels like home. The shower is powerful and hot (rare in Peru) and there is a lovely roof terrace. Would highly recommend this hostel and the owner is super...
