These people do not know what hospitality means. My family and I had just arrived to Cusco and just wanted to rest and adjust to the altitude in our room, and for a straight week they were doing construction right outside our room ALL day and even after sunset. They were still adding things to our room while we were...

We just got back from Cusco, having stayed 5 nights at the Amaru Hostal. Cute, quirky rooms, perfect location, and a truly great staff made it a wonderful experience. The price was right as well. The real star was the staff, though. So friendly, so amazingly accommodating, they did everything to make our experience as perfect as possible. Jose Valenzuela...

If you're looking to stay in a hostal, this ranks pretty high up there. The rooms are all very different and each has their own "charm." We went with a rather large group, so we got to see (and hear about) many of the rooms. We stayed in one of the first rooms on the left. Our room shared a...

I stayed there for a total of 3 nights on 2 separate stay in August 2012. Location was awesome! You're in the middle of all the action and close to many great restaurant. There's a great little bakery about 20 steps away. Room 1: We had a matrimonial double for 2 nights. Room size was good for Peru standards. Lighting...

It would truly be a real shame to pass this place up. Maybe I'm just used to as a traveler to bad hostal conditions, but this, defying the name, is sooo much nicer than a hostal while still having all the charm and friendliness. The staff was fantastic. The rooms were fantastic, the breakfast was to die for, great view......

This was the most unique lodging we stayed in. We opened the door to our room to a ladder staircase. It's pitch black and the light switch is at the top of the ladder. I was too exhausted to care. I hauled my gear up the ladder, turned on the lights, and wow. The room was so uniquely nice. The...

For an ideal location ten minute's walk from Plaza del Armas, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and a big, soft bed this is the perfect hotel for any Cusco-bound traveller. We stayed here twice, first for three days and then for a short stopover, and on both occasions we were given a very warm welcome with staff helping us...

From start to finish a great stay. Our airport pickup arrived as arranged, we got to the hostal, and had a fantastic stay. Not much more to say. This place is clean, very pretty, fantastic central location, lovely views, beautiful courtyards with lots of lovely plants, comfortable rooms, staff are friendly and accommodating, as much coca tea as you can...

Stayed for a total of 4 nights. The location just between the main plaza and the smaller San Blass plaza is excellent. The staff from reception to the breakfast staff are friendly and helpful. To organize transport was never a problem. The room was very atmospheric, clean and a decent size, it even had a small mezzanine as sitting area....

Rooms are decent enough, but the service was so terrible, I would not recommend it and would never go back. There's a lovely courtyard but beware of the noise it brings into the rooms, what with other guests carrying on conversations just outside your room all evening. The hotel management has clearly made no attempt at training their front desk...
