This hostel was a nice place to stay at. We met some cool travelers here and got good rest as well. The workers here were also very kind and helpful. It was pretty clean too and I didn't really face any issues at this hostel.

A (relatively) cheap and cheerful place. They provided a taxi service from the airport (for around USD 21). The rooms are a bit damp and not too clean -- but perhaps that's because of Lima's climate. The bathrooms tend to get congested in the morning and as others have pointed out, are not too well maintained. The breakfast was nothing...

I stayed at Backpacker's Family House for a total of four nights distributed on three visits. What makes this hostel a great choice is the super friendly and attentive staff, the clean facilities, great location and comfy beds. Warm showers and lockers too! And I was also able to store my excess stuff there safely for a good week. But...

Stayed a total of two nights here and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is quite close to the main areas, and very close to Boardwalk that follows the coast line. Beds your comfortable in dorms and everyone was provided with locker space to secure belongings. Hostel is clean and friendly, with a kitchen for you to use as...

We stayed at this hostel back in February 2011 and had a GREAT time. It's within close proximity to a beautiful (but rocky) beach and very close within walking distance of the local downtown parks and grocery stores. We took the free spanish lessons that they offered, twice, and I still remember what I learned to this day. Just spent...

It was exactly what we needed for our nights before and after our trip to Cusco, nothing exceptional, but nothing bad. The staff was super nice, especially Patrick. Even when the taxis messed up they helped correct it quickly. Location was key too.

This hostel is in a great area, very close to many nice cafés and close to the water/park area. We had the private room which was in a separate part of the hostel (it fronted onto the street) and it was very comfortable and clean. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 2 nights and i can safely say this is the worst hostel i have experienced in South America. There were no options for private ensuites in any rooms and the communal bathrooms were the most dirty i have ever seen. There didn't seem to be anyone checking on the cleanliness of these at any point, or...

My travelling partner and I arrived in Lima from Canada in the wee hours of the night and before out arrival the hostel staff arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport to take us to the hostel, one less thing to think about at 3am. Family House is in a great neighbourhood (Miraflores), a 20min walk...

We spent our first two nights in Lima here. Great location, close to the ocean and you can get to the center of Miraflores by walking 15 min. Friendly staff, they offer pick up from the airport. It's a hostel, so don't expect much, but you have bed to sleep on and shower with hot water. And prices are great....
