This is a fine hotel. Location is good, you can go walking to many places. It is 20 min walk from Lamarco Shopping and Huaca Pullcana. The breakfast is good, specially the scrambled eggs and cheese. Bed is good ans room is big. The street in front of the hotel is a bit noisy, so i would recommend to ask...

A very safe neighbourhood to walk about, in fact our tour guide lived in the area which he was very complimentary about. We had a room on the second floor on the front of the hotel which was reasonably quiet even though it was close to the road. It was well appointed with a good shower and an easy walk...

The Casa Andina chain is a huge chain of hotels throughout Peru. They have different levels of quality, including, "Select, Classic, Private" and maybe another one or two. Prices vary a bit, but they're all good, basic, clean hotels in convenient locations. This Casa Andina Classic Miraflores Centro hotel represents the chain well. It is very convenient to Lima's Miraflores...

My mother and I stayed here twice on our recent trip to Peru. The hotel is located in a safe, busy neighborhood right next to Miraflores Park/Park Kennedy, which makes it easy to navigate back to and means there's a lot of food, activities, shopping, etc. within walking distance. The staff are superb--they let us stay an hour past our...

I spent one night there, our room was quite basic but not bad. We found only one towel each for the two days! In every good hotel there are two towels each (one smaller and one bigger), only in cheap hotels there is one towel each, but Casa Andina is not cheap! The same happened in Casa Andina in Aguas...

This hotel was conveniently located for our needs with friendly and very helpful Reception and Concierge. We had a Superior en suite room that was clean with a good elevated view of the city. Very good breakfast selection. Otherwise, would probably try somewhere else as e.g. poor bar and food service as that seemingly interrupts staff conversations and them trying...

We enjoy staying here. It is centrally located especially if you are shopping at the Inca Market. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant to work with. It's not super fancy but very comfortable. The Casa Andina chain is one of our favorites. Hot water and a great breakfast is a plus too. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great location across from tourist market and within walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions. The staff is great, nothing is a problem and they are happy to make you a cup of tea at any time, even though they don't have a 24 hour food service. The rooms are clean and modern. The layout of the hotel is...

The Casa Andina chain is a very classic group of hotels found in Peru. We loved them as they were all clean and up to a very high standard. The staff are very nice and always ready to help. The rooms are all clean and serviced daily.

Hello. Will be going on an escorted tour in spring of 2015. This will be one of the hotels I'm staying at. Will be visiting Lima/Arequipa/Puno/Cusco/PuertoMaldonado/SV/Ag Calientes on this tour.

I like to pick up several Art pieces from local artists as souviners whenever I visit another country (I'm from the US). I've been researching what Peru is know for and noticed the Gourd art, carved or painted. It is unlike anything I've seen and from pictures I don't see it is as available as textiles, jewelry, carved wood. On top of that I have seen some of the pieces get quite large which is what I want because I will want to display it on the floor instead of up on a shelf so I would love to get pieces that are a foot minimum to preferably 2-3 feet in height. Does anyone who lives/works in Peru or any travellers know of a place(s) to shop that specializes in that art, would have a large selection and possibly large pieces? (It can be at any of the locations I mentioned) The seller would have to be reputable and have ability to ship because If I get big pieces I feel I will have no choice but to ship. I don't mind paying moore for more elaborate pieces that I might not find at the markets (plan to shop those too). Will also be looking for a tapastry and table runners but it seems there are plenty of those at the markets. Average prices of these things would be helpful as I'm trying to figure out what to budget.

What is the average tip for meals, carrying luggage and for those who have taken tours what is appropriate tip for guides, again trying to budget.

I see people talk a lot about meat, I don't do beef/pork/chicken but I do eat fish/eggs/dairy. Don't hear much about fish, is it widely available? Are vegetarian soups available.

Last I hear about people getting sick from food. I don't think I'm prone to getting sick from previous travels, plan to bring anti-nausea, anti diarrheal, anti altitude sickness meds but is there any advice how to avoid getting sick in the first place? Hate to be in such an exciting country and not experience some of it.
