New hostel, be careful: they changed address! They are promoting the new hostel with both economic rooms for backpackers and more stylish and comfortable rooms for couples who want to have a romantic place to spend the night. Everything is perfect, wifi, hot water, breakfast. The building is characteristic and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they are... More

We booked Chaska Wasi online a few days prior to our arrival in Ollanta. We received no communication from the hotel owners regarding a major flood they experienced around the time of our booking, necessitating a total relocation of their establishment. We arrived in the Plaza de Armas and after circling and finally finding Chaska Wasi, we walked into a... More

Located on top of a restaurant with a big screen tv that attracts bus traveler's. Several nice size rooms upstairs with renovated bathrooms some remaining remodeling work on the adjacent 600 years old property. Recommended if... More

Location is great right on the main Plaza (map in HW and bookings.com is wrong). Rooms are spartanic but clean and beds good, but no lockers. The privat room has its own bathroom with shower (hot-shower only after 7pm, due to waterpressure in town). Wifi is very slow but stable and only in the common-room (no Wifi till 9:30am!). The... We stayed here only one night prior to trekking over to Lares. The owner is lovely, if she offers to cook you dinner (for a small extra fee) go for it, BEST cook around! And for a small extra fee you can also feast on bacon and eggs or breakfast burritos before you head off on your adventures. The showers... More

I stayed here one night on my way to Aguas Calientes. The view is nice and the rooms clean but my mattress was very uncomfortable. The shower was hot but the bathroom door didn't close properly. Not a huge problem but it was in the 10 bed dorm so privacy was a bit of an issue. Breakfast was basic, coffee,... More

The most charming rooms in a hostel. Friendly owner with helpful advice on food, treks and travels. Basic breakfast included - but don't expect too much. Centrally located right at Plaza de Armas. Would stay here again.

Stayed here two nights. Helpful owner, clean rooms and warm duvets even in the dorms. All in all a nice place to stay right in the centre of ollanta....but still quiet...and secluded. Yes I will stay here again!

Cheap, right at the Plaza de Armas, kind staff, owner speaks great English. Room was clean and everything was quiet, even the little bar. I couldn't get wifi to work and the outlets were not near beds, but I only stayed one night. There are a ton of restaurants all around, but I didn't have a map (not that one... More

CHASKA WASI was opened on October 20, 2002 . and from there we have grown with you .when was opened chaska wasi always felt more like home !! and that you can feel when you get over here !! clear now is a little bigger , but the essence does not change !!! chaska = star wasi = house "House with stars " so that the hostel does not lose its name , it is always important to look at the stars .so now we have spectacular views of the stars !! when you get to Ollantaytambo first you imagine it is, be within the story. Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . so we have our own entrance on the colcas . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) in general can ask how to get to places. ollantaytambo enjoy !!! ... more   less
