We stayed with Catty for one month while doing research in the area. We absolutely loved our stay at Chaska Wasi. Catty is a great host, speaks very good English and we haven't found any guest that wasn't helped with good advice, tips and care. She will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Besides the friendly host,...

My friends and I came to Ollantaytambo a day before our train to Aguas Caliente but had not booked ahead to any hostels. We came across Chaska Wasi because it had reviews of being cheap. We rang the door bell and Katty answered (the manager, and possibly owner?). She showed us in and gave the four of us a room...

I stayed here with three other friends for two nights and it was one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Fantastic relaxed atmosphere. When we stayed it wasn't busy at all. The owner is super friendly and is willing to help you with plans. She helped us book tickets to Machu Picchu. Great rooms, beautiful scenery. I...

Chaska Wasi is a great place to stay and the hostel owner is very helpful in regards to advising on places to see and how to get to them. She helped us book our tickets to Machu Piccu and organise our trip there. There is also a set of ruins just out side the hostel which are not touristic and...

New hostel, be careful: they changed address! They are promoting the new hostel with both economic rooms for backpackers and more stylish and comfortable rooms for couples who want to have a romantic place to spend the night. Everything is perfect, wifi, hot water, breakfast. The building is characteristic and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they are...

We booked Chaska Wasi online a few days prior to our arrival in Ollanta. We received no communication from the hotel owners regarding a major flood they experienced around the time of our booking, necessitating a total relocation of their establishment. We arrived in the Plaza de Armas and after circling and finally finding Chaska Wasi, we walked into a...

Location is great right on the main Plaza (map in HW and bookings.com is wrong). Rooms are spartanic but clean and beds good, but no lockers. The privat room has its own bathroom with shower (hot-shower only after 7pm, due to waterpressure in town). Wifi is very slow but stable and only in the common-room (no Wifi till 9:30am!). The...

We stayed here only one night prior to trekking over to Lares. The owner is lovely, if she offers to cook you dinner (for a small extra fee) go for it, BEST cook around! And for a small extra fee you can also feast on bacon and eggs or breakfast burritos before you head off on your adventures. The showers...

I stayed here one night on my way to Aguas Calientes. The view is nice and the rooms clean but my mattress was very uncomfortable. The shower was hot but the bathroom door didn't close properly. Not a huge problem but it was in the 10 bed dorm so privacy was a bit of an issue. Breakfast was basic, coffee,...

Walking through these narrow streets , all built with stones and have next to water channels , which were built in the Inca era. CHASKA WASI is within the APU Pinkulluna . so we have our own entrance on the colcas . opposite the hostel we can see the tree Pisonay with more than 160 years old. There are also hikes of 1, 2, 4 and 6 hours. quarries, Inca bridge, Intipunku , Pumamarka and native communities ( Willoc , Yanamayo Patacancha ) in general can ask how to get to places. ollantaytambo enjoy !!! ... more   less
