Far more than we expected, the staff are amazingly friendly and hospitable! The view from our room was right at the ruins on the hills and the rooms were very comfy, clean and bathroom was very good with as much hot water as you like (which isn't always the case in this part of the world). They also allowed us...

Great location! Hotel located a few steps away from Plaza de Armas and at the end of the street is the ruin. Very close to all the good restaurants and a Qwik-e-mart. The train station to Machu Picchu is a mile away from hotel but walkable. We were a family of four and were given a nice big room that...

Mixed review of this hostel. Pros: - nice hostel - good bed - hot shower - clean - good location Cons: - didn't have any record of our booking (booking.com) but it is low season so they had spare rooms. Probably wouldn't have worked out so well in high season. - no wifi in the room, and even in the...

This is a nice and simple place to stay. Its close to the train station and the family that owns and runs it was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. They stayed up late to welcome us back from MP when we caught the late train. Clean room and bed. Wifi only in common area unfortunately.

They reserved my room for late arrival (last train from Machu Picchu to Ollanta). Unfortunately could not get public transportation from train station to hostal and had to walk almost a mile. Hostal just one block from main plaza. Owner and wife were helpful. They watched my bags after early check-out and visited nice town. Cafe/restaurants just next door. Our...

If you don't want to deal with disorganized staff, rude front desk management and incompetent/stubborn people, avoid this hostal at all costs. First thing first, the gentleman who claimed to be in-charge didn't have our full reservation upon arrival. I booked this place solely on price and proximity about two weeks ago (mid-August). I originally booked for one night, 9/6-9/7,...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to catch the train for Machu Pichu. Simply avoid this place if you are looking for a pleasant place to stay. I would however recommend if you are looking for a budget stay. Why avoid this place? Here are the reasons: 1. No one was to be found at the front desk...

We stayed here before and after Machu Picchu and liked this hostel. Very clean and light rooms, hot showers, comfortable beds, luggage storage. Moreover the location is really good: near the ruins, near the train station, next to good restaurants. Only wifi is poor, but there are enough restaurants around which offer free wifi (our recommendation: the wifi in the...

It is very nice town, and hotel is very nice also. The staff can not speak English. We have booked to double rooms with shared bathroom and we got one quadruple room with private bathroom. No connection to internet. We did not get breakfest because we travelled to Machu picchu very early in the morning.

Pros: what I really liked about this hostel was the pics of the rooms when booked online and the "town" feel. Very pretty decorated rooms (Peru designs) and outdoors. Location was perfect too. Just a few steps from plaza de armas main square. The front desk will hold your bags after you check out if you want to go see...
