I can't say enough good things about El Albergue. Our room had a big porch and an amazing view of the mountains. It feels like you're staying in a garden, surrounded by beautiful flowers. We took a wood fired sauna that the hotel set up for us, perfect after a long day of hiking. Last but now least, it's the...

We had a lovely stay at El Albergue. It is a cute, well run little hotel in Ollantaytambo. ROOM: The rooms are very clean with crisp, white linen. After staying in Peru for 2 weeks, we came to accept that the beds are hard everywhere. El Albergue is no exception. There are sweet touches in the room like a candle...

We followed the reviews and blogs and went straight here after arriving in Lima. Made for a long day but El albergue arranged our pickup in Cuzco and we went straight to hotel. Very difficult to express how great a place this is. I will try to do it justice. Perfect location, great room, amazing restaurant (get the fresh pasta)...

The short version: if you stay in Ollantaytambo, stay at the El Albergue. The place is well maintained, charming, clean rooms, great food, excellent location, great service/ staff. We stayed at the EA for one night with two couples. Upon arrival you kind of wonder where you are going since the hotel is literally inside the train station, but dont...

This hotel has so many great reviews, mine is just another ringing endorsement. First, the town is lovely and our favorite place of the trip. The hotel is conveniently located AT the train station (for your easy convenience to get on train to AC). The staff were all helpful, especially Sara, who has a relaxed and friendly way about her....

Wow! What a great location. Upon arriving at the El Alergue you are at the end of the road, literally. Now you must take the train. The El Albergue is a set of garden rooms in combination with a quaint train station and restaurant. The rooms are cradled in amid lovely lush garden landscaping, the river & steep bluffs. This...

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel : 1 before going to Aguas Calientes and 1 after returning from Machu Picchu. I was in room 11 and 10 . The bedroom and the bathroom are big, but not clean. The hotel looks unkempt . The breakfast is quite simple, taking into account the daily rate . It is well located,...

I recently stayed at the hotel with my wife and kids. Immediately when we entered the room assigned to my children, we noticed that it reeked with the stench of cigarette smoke, despite the fact that the hotel is billed as a non-smoking hotel. When I raised it with the front desk, the manager, Marco, told me that the hotel...

Our outfitter booked us at El Albergue. We were in room #4 which was directly above the restaurant, and the train tracks were directly outside our window. We expressed concern about the train noise before we went to bed the first night. The receptionist and the restaurant manager could only say 'we are full'. It got even worse the 2nd...

We stayed one night in this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable (awesome beds), nice appointed and elegant. We enjoyed the food and wine and learned most of the food is grown organically at the hotel. The views and central location make this hotel quite a gem! The staff was so friendly, they helped us make arrangements, phone calls, etc....
