I had a room just above the reception lobby, facing the train tracks. The trains come in around the clock, passenger trains stop from 11pm until 5ish am. There are other, fewer trains during the night. They thoughtfully provide earplugs for the noise. The trouble for me was the diesel fumes! I had to sleep with the sheet over my...

This review is long overdue…. The hotel is located at the train station which is very convenient. We stayed here after long day at Machu Picchu. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy with simple décor. Beds are very comfy and that was the best sleep I got on our trip. The hotel itself and hotel grounds are very charming....

We stayed one night at El Albergue, before our trip to Machu Picchu. It was so convenient, right at the train station, so just walk out the front door and get on the train. You would think it would be noisy, but it wasn't. The interior courtyard is very lush with plants and flowers, just beautiful. The room was large,...

This is one of our favorite small hotels. It's just the kind of place you imagine staying on a visit to Macchu Picchu. Intimate, historic, great looking, and with a strong connection to the local community. We highly recommend taking a car in from Cuzco and then the train to Macchu PIcchu. The hotel arranged arranged our Macchu PIcchu tickets...

I had a fantastic time in El Albergue, for sure this is one of the best places in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, I have to say that I was extremely happy with the room and the art in all the property, the food and service from the restaurant was A1, the staff (specially Christian who was always checking...

Well, the hotel is not really bad looking but like a previous reviewer said "good hardware, very poor software" We arrived late (8:25PM) in Ollantaytambo because after our trip to Pisac in the city of Coya the crazy Christmas fiesta blocked the only road to Ollantaytambo. The miscommunication between the manager and the employee made our arrival a very rude...

This compound includes the train station, restaurant and outbuildings that include the guest rooms. The original portion was built in 1925 by the British railroad. The grounds include a 3 acre organic garden the provides fresh produce for the restaurant. I'm giving this a four star because its so unique and views from the hotel are breathtaking. On top of...

I can't imagine a more perfect place to launch our exploration of Machu Picchu. When everyone else gets off the train bone tired and facing a long walk and haggling over taxis or figuring out which bus to take, we just hopped off, freshened up a bit in our room, and slid into a beautiful table for a gourmet dinner...

This unique accommodation fronts on the railway platform, so not only is it very convenient for the trains to Aguas Caliente and Machu Picchu, but my wife and I found it fun to see the trains passing by so close outside the reception area and the restaurant. The rooms are basic but clean and pleasant, arranged around lovely gardens. Although...

The location of the hotel in Ollantaytambo train station was both a positive and a negative. Positive for those heading out early to MP, as it avoided the long lines. Situated on the actual train platform, we did not have to wake up too early. Negative for the smell that the train emits (exhaust from gas or diesel?). The train...
