Surprisingly cheap (for an American traveler, anyway) at $40 a night for a very clean, safe hotel. Stylish decor, too. 4 stars instead of 5 because even though we asked for a room with 2 beds multiple times (and they confirmed multiple times) we were given a room with a single bed. Other than that, zero complaints.

Hotel Iberia is a very good place and well cleaned. The location is good not far (less than five minutes walk) from the main square and a lot of nice restaurants. I had a bad experience in Montevideo and the staff was really helpful. It is simply a good hotel where to stay.

Clean, beautiful, amazing staff, you can use the kitchen to warm your food, they give you tips about the city. Good pricing. The hot air conditionated works very well in the winter. Well located in Montevideo downtown and you can go walking to Ciudad Vieja and la Rambla.

This is a nice hotel, breakfast not included unfortunately, a little dead, but staff are very friendly. Only stayed a night and it was a very comfortable stay. We did arrive in the middle of winter though and room was very cold even with the air conditioning heating switched on full blast.

We booked for 3 nights and extended 2 more. The location was great, close to La Rambla and San Jose street. Near many restaurants and bus stops. But I also enjoyed the room itself. The room was spacious, including a desk and a giant closet. It made for a nice working environment. It also included a fridge, which was ideal.... More

We stayed here for three nights, based on Trip Advisor reviews. It is a lot more like a hostel-style place than a hotel and the photo on Trip Advisor is nothing like what our room was like. When we arrived, the receptionist was nowhere to be found so we had to keep calling out until she appeared. She hardly spoke... More

With my limited knowledge of Uruguay, I believe this hotel was good value for money. Suitable for shorter stays while exploring the city. Very helpful staff but better if you know some Spanish. Rooms are neat although showing their age in places. No cups or coffee facilities in my room but the fridge worked well. Aircon is a lifesaver! Best... More

“The rooms on the top floor were quiet and pleasant. We got a room with a pleasant view of the street and our friend got an interior room with no view. The stairs to the top floor were attractive but carrying our luggage up all those stairs was brutal. There is no elevator.”
