We had a lovely stay here, found out the managers knew friends back in our hometown as we discussed their renovations around one of the pools. Lovely and quiet, beds were very comfortable? We had full kitchen so everything was there. Close to other restaurants if you want to try

How far away from the supermarket and other bars and restaurants is the resort
You have three restaurants within walking distance from the Sunset Resort. Alberto's 2 minutes away is an excellent restaurant we ate there at least 3 times, the Sunset Resort Restaurant is great for the once a week BBQ and seafood night and also good if you are tired and want an early night. Kiku Hut and Tamanu's Restaurant are just up the road you can walk there. Just remember every resort has a restaurant which is open to the public You don't have to be staying there, and there are plenty of resorts close by. You can get a bus right out in front of the resort to go up town for dinner at Trader Jacks, Chinese, Pizza, The Lazy Trout or other nice restaurants etc etc. the bus is $8 return and takes about 10-12 minutes. You can also get a $30 - 10 trip bus ticket if you think you are going to use the bus a lot. The bus is the same price to go all around the Island or just one stop. There are two buses one goes clockwise and one anti clockwise about every half hour (island time). Expect to pay about $28 - $35 for a main meal and for two people we always got change from $100 which included desert and two drinks each (beer $5-$8) and Spirits/wine about $6-$8. It is Cheaper to go to the super market and buy them and have happy hour on the beach where everyone gathers about 5.00pm. You will enjoy discovering new restaurants and make sure you go to the Culture night it is very good.

We are arriving at the end of May for a short stay. Will the renovations to the bar and second pool be completed by then?
Regret the bar will not be completed by then, we are not expecting it to be completed for another 6 to 8 weeks. Circumstances beyond our control. Please note the other pool is fully operational and we have the 2nd bar (Drumbeat bar substitute) situated on our beach section next to the property which is working very well. We look forward to seeing you at the end of May. Regards Colleen

Are there kayaks and safe beach to paddle?
Kia Orana, we do not have kayaks or paddle boards. We are too close to the reef for that. Kayaks and paddle boards can be hired in other spots around the island. Our office team can assist you with booking these at anytime. Regards Colleen

Hi.. I was there in 1997.. it was called Rarotongan sunset.. same place?? Next to edgewater resort? It was run by a nice kiwi man named Nick... I'm. Finally getting back to Cooks .. will be staying st Raina a Beach..7 days and autitaki fir 6.. I can't wIt!!! I never wanted to leave before😍😍 Papa longtime worked there.. he took my husband and nick out and drank some strong bush beer!!!nick said he'd never do it again!! What an amazing time😍
Hi there, Nick is no longer the manager but has his own resort called Te Vaka Roa in Muri. The new managers have been here for 6 years. Tim and Colleen Darby as seen in the image. Pop in and visit as you are exploring the island on your next visit, we would be delighted to show you around.
