Great location, just over the bridge from the Old Town. Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy feel. Wifi. B'fast in an Ottoman-style basement. Stayed as part of a group tour but would recommend and would return.

A lovely little guesthouse in a good location just across the river from the old town. The facilities are basic, but more than adequate for our needs and everything was clean and comfortable. The guesthouse has a traditional, cosy charm and the staff were fantastic - so friendly, helpful, cheerful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the Kandilj and would...

This quaint and cosy guesthouse is run with pride. Because it's tucked away, it can be difficult to find. I loved that the renovations were done with an eye for detail (the shower floor has the look of historical mosaic). We got to stay there only one night but it is evident that Nayl who is caretaker, receptionist, porter and...

The guesthouse is perfectly located in Sarajevo’s old town area of very steep, narrow, winding roads reminiscent of some of Istanbul’s old neighborhoods--it is as if you stepped back hundreds of years into the city’s colorful past. Since we could not find the address, one of the owners (managers?) called Najl (sp) came down on foot to the store at...

Actually, it was in 2013 that I first stayed at the Kandiji and I loved it so much that I'm going back again in July 2016. This will probably be my last trip to Sarajevo but I've been so fortunate to have visited many times. I just wish I'd found the Kandiji before. All the staff members are so helpful...

This little hostel is only a few minutes walk from the town center. We had some difficulties finding it, but when we eventually did it was great. Nice and polite staff, breakfast is ok. For a budget hostel you can't expect any more. I'd stay here again!

We stayed at Kandilj for 6 nights altogether in April and May. We began our trip with staying at Kandilj for 3 nights and then went off to Mostar and Neum, returning to Sarajevo before flying home. In our second stay there, my husband became very sick with an infection. All of the staff were so helpful and caring, offering...

The hotel is a bottom of steep hill , very close to the latin bridge and old bazar. The bazaar is 5 minutes walk. The room had one double and a single bed, plenty for one person. The room was ok. The room had a lot of ethinic stuff which was nice. The coridor outside the room had a funny...

This clean, comfortable guest house is full of character. It's in a quiet location, and only a five minute walk to the Latin Bridge and riverside taxi rank and the train. It is warm, welcoming, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I found it totally endearing.

Location-wise, Kandilj is a clear winner – a mere 5–15 minutes of leisure walking to many of Sarajevo’s must-see landmarks such as the Tomb of the Seven Brothers, The Emperor’s Mosque, City Hall, House of Spite, Latin Bridge and the Old Town. My room had 3 single beds which, had there actually been 3 persons staying in it, would have...
