You can arrive easily by car and you can park inside (even though paid) in a garage reachable by a lift, not suitable for big vehicles. It is very hard to find parking in the street.
No breakfast and dinner, but a lot of restaurants and coffee bars nearby. You can also prepare coffee and tea in your room.
The staff is not very kind, but the reception is open 24 hours.
We were on the top floor, the room and the bathroom were silent, large, bright and comfortable, but the room looked a bit neglected as the whole hotel.
Price good for Sofia City.
Plus ·
The few things that were good were the location and the spacious rooms.
Minus ·
House keeping:
They just clean the room if you aren´t in it, they don´t even knock on the door to check first and when they do clean it they switch towels, give you new glasses and empty your trash bins. When I asked the reception, they answered that they don´t come back after 11 in the morning to see if you need house keeping.
Room:
The hairdryer worked for 10 sec. then it stops.
The water pressure in the shower is weak.
The towels are thin and worn out.
The curtains are too thin so the light shines in the room in the morning.
The bed is really hard, I got back pain sleeping in it.
The wi-fi is very unstable.
Overall, the staff is rude and not helpful except the cleaning lady. The only thing that saves this hotel is the location and the spacious rooms, nothing else. I don´t know why they get so good ratings, perhaps fake reviews.
Everything could be perfect but they have one (big) problem: the heater in the bathrooms wasn't working, so we asked the receptionist and he told us that all the heaters in all the bathrooms of the hotel are like that. They built the hotel like that and that's it. Bizzarre.
Wasn't that great considering that outside was -16 degrees, otherwise for price and service would be perfect.
The location of the hotel is unparalleled!
In your leisure time, you may take a stroll through the wonderful streets of downtown Sofia, partake in the weekend promenade on Vitoshka Boulevard where the folks come out to walk shop and have a cup of coffee in one of the numerous cafes alongside the boulevard. If you are jetlagged and hungry and it’s past midnight, you may find a 24h grocery store called “Mandarin,” which is located about two blocks from the hotel on the same street, “Khristo Belchev.” You may also walk couple minutes longer and find a wonderful little joint called “Supateria” that serves soups and salads – it is open 24/7. The food is very cheap and tasty. The place is located on “Graf Ignatiev” – across from the book market and the McDonald. I can go on and on, but you get my point.
If you are planning to travel to Sofia anytime soon, call their front desk and ask for the manager - Ms. Dobreva - she will take good care of you.
Cheers!
Robert
The air conditioner wouldn't work, the room was small and breakfast was limited. I wouldn't like to stay here more than one night and there must surely be better hotels in town. Staff were friendly enough but it was a tired old place.
