Stayed 2 nights in Sheraton Zagreb, which is a rather central hotel within 10 mins walking distance to the main square. This hotel is under renovation now. Rooms are of a decent large size but look dated now. Love the use of large body gel and shampoo dispensers, which eleminate small plastic bottles. Enjoyed the mattress and pillow / bedding which are extremely comfortable, and I had a room with a large picture window with natural lighting, abdwhich can be opened a small crack which lets in some cool air. Breakfast starts at 6:30am, and I suggest an early start, as there is not much seating in the hotel lobby, and this hotel is crowded. Front Desk folks are very friendly.

Our stay started with a speedy check in and an excellent city orientation by the hotel concierge using the local map which we used often throughout our visit to the beautiful city of Zagreb. Our room was ready immediately and we were greeted with a welcome gift of a special local tea and a delicious heart shaped cake with Zagreb printed on top. We are Marriott ambassadors so we were upgraded to a large 1 bedroom suite complete with 2 full bathrooms. The only drawback at this hotel for me is that the bathrooms have tub/shower combo units and no separate walk in shower so it can be challenging to get in and out of the shower since you have to step over the side of the tub.
We also had club lounge access. The lounge which was recently renovated is located on floor 1 and has a coffee machine, breakfast pastries, cookies, snacks and small sandwiches available throughout the day. At 6pm, appetizers and one or 2 other hot dishes are added. The little cookies were quite good.
The fitness center is open 24/7 and is also on floor 1. It is quite large with many weight machines, free weights and a variety of aerobic equipment. There is also a pool and 3 different saunas that are available from 8 am to 9 pm.
The breakfast is very good. The cold buffet is supplemented with an ala carte menu of hot items. As an ambassador we opted for the free breakfast. The croissants are some of the best I have ever had. They obviously bake them in house and if you are lucky enough to get one as they are delivered from the kitchen they are the perfectly flaky warm and absolutely delicious. They offer several varieties but my favorite was filled with apple pie filling. They also have a decadent chocolate spread that you can put on the butter croissants. We had dinner in the hotel Italian restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient but the food was so so but reasonably priced.
Front desk staff were always available, courteous and helpful. They all spoke excellent English.
All of the tourist attractions are walking distance from the hotel. We explored the lower town on foot the first day. The buildings and parks around the Croatian National Assembly are beautiful. The train station is less than a 10 minute walk to the Sheraton. There was a stage in the main square near the cathedral where there always seemed to be free entertainment of some kind. The 2nd day we walked to the cathedral and on up to the upper part of the old town. There is a funicular but you can also use one of the many staircases to reach the upper town. This is where you will find Zagreb’s famous church with its distinctive tiled roof. Be warned, there is a tall tower at the top of the funicular and they fire a single cannon shot from the tower every day at noon.
We had a very nice stay at the Sheraton and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Large hotel 20 minutes walk from the tourist spots. Impersonal and run of the mill service. Staff was professional and courteous but looked a bit fed up. There is only one restaurant open in the hotel and breakfast at 22 euros per head is quite expensive. There are no views from the hotel as it’s only 6 stories high and surrounded with buildings. The room was smallish but neat and clean with old style dark wood effect furniture. Limited room service menu although the tomato soup that we ordered was nice. A nice touch was a welcome plate of a couple of plumbs, some prunes and another item that I can’t remember what it was. Everyday cleaning was ok but the toilet never felt fresh. Bed was nice and comfortable with clean sheets and soft pillows. The only question is how clean were they inside the covers. A small corner of the quilt that was visible was not very clean. TV was small and channels were the usual. As it was not a smart TV you could not connect to any streaming services. Only one person could you use the bathroom at a time when brushing teeth as it was very small. For 120 euros a night without breakfast this was expensive. There is also a small piano bar that serves nice cakes and drinks with modern and comfortable seating - worth a visit.

Summary: Very bad experience across departments and rooms. Makes me think to abandon Mariott brand altogether.
Location: Good , 15 -20 min walk to the city centre, or, 4-5 Euro by Uber Facilities: It has a swimming pool, sauna. But, no spa, no jacuzzi . Rooms: A lot of smell in almost all the rooms( We checked 6 rooms, stayed in 2 if them) We had given a request for a Suite with partition at the time of booking . On check in, the staff at the reception confirmed the same, however, when we checked in, it was not the case. On talking to the reception, we were told that there was a miscommunication between the reception and housekeeping. We had to change the room . The AC was not functioning properly, and, the AC technician came, but did not understand English, and, left it unattended. The glass partition On the tub was not stable, and, the water seeped from under it to the whole bathroom. Again, the complaint didn't solve the problem.
We again checked 3 rooms( of course all had the smell), but, had to change anyways!!( Due to AC and bathroom). In the new room, smell was there, AC was making a lot of noise. On complaining, the technician said, it can't be fixed, and, we need to have the fan on the lowest speed!!
Staff: The staff appeared to be working reluctantly( Reception, breakfast,Bell boys..etc) . There were only 2 staff who were good...one on the wellness/ swimming pool section, and, one short girl ar the reception ( trainee) who helped us with concierge servicesas well. There was no concierge.,and, the other girl was not interested in telling anything! In all, the staff was not polite, lacked HR training, appeared reluctant to work.
Breakfast: Very limited options . Rather least amongst the 5 hotels across CROATIA that we stayed in! The staff at Breakfast was rude too!

Dear Vipula475, Firstly, I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the disappointing experience you had during your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed observations. I am deeply sorry to hear about the challenges you encountered across various departments and with the rooms. It is clear that we fell short of meeting your expectations in several critical areas, and for that, I am truly sorry. Issues such as the miscommunication regarding your suite request, the functionality of the AC, and the maintenance problems with the bathroom partition are unacceptable. We are addressing these issues with our team to prevent such occurrences in the future. Regarding the language barrier and lack of resolution with the AC technician, this is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. We are reviewing our communication protocols and technical support to ensure our guests' concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. Your comments about the staff's demeanor and service are deeply concerning. Providing genuine hospitality and attentive service is at the core of what we strive for, and it is disappointing to hear that this was not your experience. I will personally address your feedback with our team to reinforce the importance of professionalism and guest care in every interaction. As for the breakfast experience and the limited options, I apologize for not meeting your expectations. Your feedback about the quality and variety of offerings has been noted, and we will review and enhance our breakfast offerings to better serve our guests. I appreciate your recognition of the few team members who stood out positively during your stay. It is our goal to ensure that all members of our team consistently deliver exceptional service with a genuine smile. We value your feedback tremendously and hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to exceed your expectations and restore your faith in our hotel and the Marriott brand. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if there is anything else I can do to address your concerns or make amends for your experience. Kind regards, Sheraton Zagreb hotel

Bit disappointed with the Sheraton in Zagreb. Although the hotel itself is nice and check in was smooth and easy, I think this hotel has a lot of problems.
The rooms are OK if in need of some renovation. The aircon unit is old and makes a lot of noise. The biggest problem with the hotel seems to be that they have far too many guests for the size of the facilities. This means that the pool area is hugely overcrowded. Additionally it seems that a lot of the staff (with the exception of the cleaning staff who were great) don't really seem to care about things and you seem more of an inconvenience to them e.g. picking up towels at the pool was difficult and they don't give you a locker key meaning your stuff is at risk.
Worst of all is breakfast which must go down as one of the worst breakfasts I've had in any hotel. There is no system when you arrive which means it's a total free for all. You're told sit anywhere but there are no free tables at all and any empty tables are full of old dishes that have not been cleared. Getting food is a complete bun fight. They've run out of loads of things. Simple things aren't done right - no bowls or plates for example. Orange juice or apple juice nowhere to be seen. The food that is available feels like it's been sitting for ages ages hot food was so cold it was inedible.
This has been the case for 2 days running (Sunday and Monday morning breakfasts) so clearly isn't a one off. The whole thing needs addressing by hotel management.
Overall pretty disappointed in this hotel and it definitely isn't worth the money they're charging. I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Dear Matthew, on behalf of the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel I would like to pass on our sincerest regrets and apologies for the poor experience you had at our Hotel. We're extremely saddened to read that we missed to deliver the service in line with your expectations, especially regarding the breakfast, which includes serving delicious customized hot dishes as per guests' preferences along with the sumptuous buffet breakfast, so the breakfast menu is extensive in terms of offering. Feedback from guests to date has been phenomenal. Rest assured that I have discussed the issues actually caused by crowded breakfast you mentioned with my managers and I have taken measures to ensure that you do not experience the same inconvenience the next time you come stay with us, should you decide to give us another chance. Best regards from Sheraton Zagreb team!

A perfect 5 stars. Large newly shaped rooms, great bed, good size TV, very clean carpet, new cabinets and good lighting. Anti-noise windows. Clean bathrooms. helpful and attentive staff. Good bar/coffee ideal for cold days. Very good Italian restaurant. Breakfast served in a very nice location, is full of many options and the a la carte eggs are special. The gym is large and with modern appliances. Good hot pool. The entrance hall is large with comfortable and new sofas. Suitable location for us, close to station and a short walk to the center. Despite being an old building the hotel inside is luxurious and offers a lot of comfort.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip. We found the hotel very comfortable and really liked the location, which was only a 15 minute walk from the main Jelacic Square in Zagreb. We were looking for grocery stores where we could pick up a few supplies for the trip and there were two of them nearby.
We had a two room junior suite, which had plenty of space and a nice bathroom. It was a little frustrating to be there in the middle of construction / renovations, which closed off part of the lobby, and meant that you couldn't take the stairs from the first floor to the ground (had to wait for the elevator). Hopefully these will be completed soon.
The hotel offered parking for our car for €20, which felt a little expensive but was very convenient. There was a nice breakfast buffet with lots of hot and cold offerings. Overall we enjoyed our visit and would return.

Since it is a hotel that I have known for many years (more than 20) I thought I was on the safe side and instead I found myself on the set of jokes aside. We immediately pointed out to the reception that the room booked (through booking: a deluxe king) was subject to water infiltrations connected to the air conditioning system, but the receptionist replied that the hotel was fully booked so we had to wait until the next morning. It could happen if it weren't for the fact that we discovered, from the employee on the floor (the 2nd), that the fact was known there where the receptionist (a young boy with glasses who, in very formal English, had concentrated on the services pool and massages) had redirected us right to that room. The change involved moving to a small queen, less beautiful and with windows that cannot be opened. If we add to this that our call in the morning (at 10 am) for 2 cappuccinos and 2 brioshes in the room was not answered (after 1 hour of waiting) due - we were told - to a lack of croissants; that at the (prepaid) garage the bar wouldn't open (and it took over 20 minutes to resolve the problem); and that in the evening (10.30 pm) we were denied an espresso at the bar because (we were told) the machine had already been cleaned and locked, it is clear that there is something wrong with this hotel. Being fond of this structure I can only hope that things will change.

The Sheraton 5-star hotel in Zagreb is close to the city center, despite the advantageous location, the hotel's amenities and rooms significantly fall short of expectations. The facilities are old and the rooms really need renovation. There's an urgent need for investment to elevate the hotel to the standard one would anticipate from a Sheraton establishment.

When I went was not noisy, the only bigger constraint was only 1 elevator was operating. I have no idea till when renovation is being done...
Good luck.
No, there was no fee or restrictions on use of the spa when we were there in the fall of 2022. It is a very nice spa with two different sauna and steam. We stayed for hours.
I stayed a few nights this month. The benefit I got as a Platinum was an upgrade to a great executive corner suite (but that is not guaranteed) and offered 1,000 points or breakfast. If you don't need the points, take the breakfast.
There are more places to choose from in the Zagreb area.
