We stayed at the Rus for two nights at the start of our trip to Ukraine, and another night (or, more precisely, day and half a night) at the end, before a very early flight out of the country. I really can't complain about the service. We arrived in the early evening. Check-in was easy, and a bellhop was on-hand...

There is a problem with hotels around the main street of Kyiv - Khreshchatik. Most of them are post-soviet and have a very tired design. If you go just a bit further then you have hotels like Hyatt and Inter-Continental. Many people recommend Hotel Khreshchatik as the best choice in this area which balances well location, quality and price. Indeed...

I decided to split my stay in Kiev between 2 similarly priced hotels. My first was centrally located but run-down, my second was the Rus. It cost about $100 a night - you can search lots of online booking sites, but generally their prices will be pretty close to rack rates so you might want to consider booking direct. It's...

Decent hotel with clean normal-size rooms located steps away from the main 'boulevard' with all the shops. Very close to the metro station too. If I went back to Kyiv, I would definitely choose Rus again.

Hotel in the center of Kiev, streaming to get four stars instead of their 3 for now. Don't be afraid of outside soviet-time look - inside of the is quite OK! Very generous breakfast buffet with good coffee. Too diligent waiters - they spinned around our breakfast table so close and frequent that we started to feel like in a...

First stay in Kiev. Hotel Rus was a perfect choice. LOCATION. : Very convenient. Quiet street, but just a short walk from Metro station and shopping. Caveats. It is an uphill walk from the Metro to the hotel; if you're not able to walk up several flights of stairs, take a cab. Cabs are cheap in Kiev. Within a 5...

When I arrived at the hotel during late evening, it was extremely hot in my room and the thermometer in my room read 29C! Clearly the sun had been heating the room all day, but the air conditioning didn't appear to have any effect and opening the window only reduced the temperature by 2C. Still too sweltering to sleep! I...

This hotel is a nice, clean place with a helpful, mostly english speaking front-line staff. But, the English is very basic and not always very helpful. I stayed the step above the bottem room. It was reasonable and nice. I would say par for the course. The hotel food was very lacking, however. It seems like the hotel next door...

My mother and I were travelling in Ukraine to visit the village in which she was born. We stayed at Hotel Rus Kiev for 4-nights total sharing a room with twin beds (standard). The room was very clean with a great view of Kiev. Staff were friendly, helpful and English speaking. The European-style breakfast was more than adequate - a...
