Excellent situation. Our bedroom faced the Pacific Ocean enabling us to see the ships lined up waiting to enter the canal. Polite service, especially one particular lady in the reception. Clean and tidy. A small roof pool. Breakfast was a good, varied breakfast. I would use this hotel again.
This is about the restaurant Saril. I just had a wonderful time with amazing hospitality from Alejandro Dayana and Flor. Hardworking attentive and smiley face always helps. I had the bouillabaisse which was very tasty but didn’t have the amount of seafood I expected. But again the attentive and caring staff helped. Keep up the good work!
Despite having advised the hotel weeks in advance that I would only arrive circa 01h00 (which was acknowledged), I received an email during a layover in Bogota hours before my arrival that my reservation had been cancelled. I spent about $50 on phone calls calling the hotel to check why. Was told there was another guest with the same surname and they assumed it was a duplicate reservation. This despite the fact that I am a Gold Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy with a unique profile - easy enough to check if they had tried. I asked for compensation for the calls, was told I'd receive same. Nothing! The room? Tepid water, old cracked fittings. Just a tired hotel.
Centrally placed with easy access by Uber or taxi to new or old city and all the other Panama attractions. Very comfortable hotel. Special mention to Diana who works in the bar and restaurant. We had the pleasure to meet her almost every night. She has a lovely personality and really looked after us even when very busy. She really lit up our stay. Would love to come back.
Location was perfect! Walkable to many restaurants and shops. The pickup location for our Uber drivers was out of traffic and easy to find. The neighborhood was vibrant with lots of activity but quieted down in the evening - never rowdy. We felt safe walking at all times. There is a noticeable police presence everywhere around the city--not ominous, just protective. And as far as specifics to the hotel: Our room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet and happy hour offerings were beyond our expectations (and helped us save tons of $$$ I'm sure). The best feature of this hotel however was the staff!! Each and every staff member was friendly and helpful. They really made us feel like welcome guests. Special shout out to Milena, the evening manager in the restaurant/bar, for making us feel like VIPs. She always greeted us by name and even learned our drink preferences. She really made our stay extra special. For us the location was centrally located to everything we wanted to do, and again I cannot overstate how amazing the staff was. I read so many negative comments about the decor being tired and out of date. I even read a couple about the hotel smelling musty (which it wasn't). I'm glad I ignored them all. My husband and I would 100% for sure stay here again.…
We spent four nights at Le Meridien. The hotel is dated and in need of a refresh, but the people make this hotel. Everyone was very nice and attentive. There were some issues, and when I brought them to the attention of the front desk, the staff addressed them and worked with me. Dayana is THE BEST! We ate in the restaurant every night, and Dayana knew our names, and what we liked. Rogilio was at the desk every evening and made sure we had what we needed. Ruth took care of the problems and received feedback with grace. We stayed in a Gold Suite, a two room suite close to Avenida Balboa - the roadnoise was loud, but died down after a while. I received a survey and completed it while I was still at the hotel. I left negative feedback concerning the road noise and a few issues with our room. Ruth met us the next day and offered to change our room. We opted to stay in our room because we usually spend little time in the room while on vacation. The point is that the hotel staff read our feedback, and offered to do what they could to make it right. That is what I want in a hotel, no stay is perfect and the workers don't control where the hotel is situated or when the ownership decides to modify the rooms and furniture. Although I cannot say I'd stay at this hotel again, the staff truly made our time at Le Meridien very enjoyable. Pros: On Avenida Balboa, easy to find, easy to maneuver when leaving and arriving, nicely spaced restaurant, decent food, very clean lobby bathrooms, wonderful staff. Cons: Road noise, afternoon traffic, limited seating in the lobby, room furniture needed replacement due to damage and wear and tear, very small gym, not a full rack of weights, no wipes or spray to wipe down machines, the gym equipment needs servicing.…
Spent three nights- went elsewhere in Panama, then returned for 3 nights. Staff were pleasant and helpful. the room was large and pleasant, but a bit “tired”. The view over the Pacific Ocean and the ships lining up to enter the canal was wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The hotel is across the road from a nice bike trail/walking trail along the ocean. The price is mid-range, so a decent value. Disliked - the property could use a little “sprucing up.”. there were not enough lights in the room, the hot water never not beyond warn on one of the days, but better other days. The fitness room could have been supplied better- no towels, the container of sanitizer wipes was empty, only one small mat to use.
This hotel is very tired. The rooms are largely, but sparsely furnished. The beds were great, but the appointments in the room are worn and dated. Public spaces are small, and not particularly attended to (bathrooms off the lobby have broken doors on stalls, did not have toilet seat covers throughout our stay, etc). The pool is tiny, and there are about four chairs. Sometimes there were towels, sometimes not. It seems like the owners/management are not so on-top of this property, which is unfortunate because the location is great. The staff in the hotel seemed to know nothing about Panama, but the wait staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were spacious and clean. AC was working great. Hotel is pretty small and relatively quiet. Rooms were not ready on time but they made up for it with a free xfer to the airport. Would stay there again. Some upkeep needs to happen as it does feel a bit dark & dated in the hallways.
Greeted with Friendliness and efficiency, great room and great view of the Pacific Ocean / Canal Entrance. Location was pretty central and walkable. Would definitely stay there again. The London Pub down the road is also worthy of a shout out !!
