My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Monkey Lodge in February and loved every minute of it. We have travelled throughout central america and this was one of our favourite spots! We origninally only booked 2 nights and decided to stay 4 instead. This Lodge is a secluded oasis, a perfect place to relax away from the hustle...

AVOID!!! This hostel is in the middle of nowhere and absolutely secluded which means that the owners can charge you whatever they want. There is no hot water nor wifi in the rooms despite the price you are paying. There is nowhere else to go for food because it's so secluded and very overpriced. The meat in my first dinner...

We're convinced your trip to Panama could not start any better than at Monkey Lodge, only a 20-30 minute (taxi-)drive (lodge can arrange pick up from Tocumen Airport or any other place). Wow, this is such a paradise! This is THE place where you can either chill at the pool, play with monkeys Lilly and Papaya (TOO cute, miss them...

The people were great, the rooms were excellent for Panama and the monkeys were so much fun to play with. Just remember to remove your glasses or they'll be gone before you know it.

We stayed with Fabrice and Sabrina 3 nights and had a wonderful experience! We had two cabanas; one with air conditioning and the "rustic" one with mosquito netting. Try to book one of the air conditioned rooms! We went on two tours with Fabrice: Isla Grande/Portobello and Camino de Cruces (a 10K jungle hike that, believe it or not, takes...

My fiancé and I had the most phenomenal experience at the Monkey Lodge. We had the room with AC and it was perfect. The shower was great (you have to assume it's going to be difficult to have "hot" water in the middle of the jungle.... so the person that reviewed below needs to drop the high maintenance attitude) and...

The three "in-house" Spider monkeys were the main draw. The rooms were clean and it was quiet and peaceful, plus there was a small pool. Other than those redeeming qualities, we thought it was overpriced.....no hot water, trickling water from the sink tap, no TV, no WiFi in the rooms, toilet would only flush once every half hour, severely uncomfortable...

Monkey Lodge is situated near the small and extremely scruffy town of Chilibre and as we approached we just hoped we were in the wrong place - actually we had driven a little too far (in the pouring rain!) and had missed the steep little turning up to the lodge. This is a family home with small, pretty cabins in...

The Monkey Lodge is a great place to stay for a few days if you ever make it to Panama. They have 3 "pet" monkeys...although the older one..Lula, is extremely shy and hides as soon as visitors arrive. The two others are quite fun...and super smart!!!. They will play and make your trip memorable one way or another. They are...
