I spent the 3 days at this hotel and it was a nightmare. They claim to have a strict noise policy, but it’s a lie!! The first night of our stay, we were woken up by extremely loud music, at 3am, coming from the room next door to our room. This went on for hours. I complained to the front desk, who claimed they started an investigation and assured me that they would rectify the problem immediately and it would not happen again. To my surprise, like clockwork, they started playing loud music again at 2am the following night. I was in complete shock and disbelief and called security. Security showed up 30 minutes later and made them turn off the music. We quickly found out why they were playing the music so loud. It was to cover the explicit sexual noises. I called security again and they called their room, but that didn’t stop them from continuing to make very loud explicit noises. I was with my son, who was traumatized by what he heard and was experiencing. The hotel staff was useless in making sure their strict noise guidelines were being adhered to. We had to listen to them for hours!! The next day we promptly checked out and was promised compensation, but we have yet to receive such compensation.…
We were searching for hotels in Panama City till I had the pleasure of speaking with Gisella Moscoso. She WOW me within seconds. She was pleasant to speak to. It was very easy to notice the experience she has in the industry. She took full control of the call by asking key discovery questions in order to provide us with a better solution. She organized the trip for us. The solution she provided was a perfect one. Since we were traveling to San Blas Kuna Yala for 2 nights. She explained how secure it was to leave our luggage on hold with them instead of having to pay for a room just to hold the family luggage. This displayed her ability to listen to the customer's concern and provide a better solution that is beneficial to the customer, not the business. (Hard to find nowadays) This is priceless, to still find corporations that care about the consumers happiness. Since we had some special request, she took some notes and scheduled a follow up call with us. (I was hesitant since some past experiences I never got that call back) I was wrong! She called me every single time. Weeks later after the reservations were made we had to make a few changes due to family changes of plans, I emailed Gisella and even thought she was out of the office for health reasons. She still got back to me with another perfect solution to the new family plans. Because of employees like her, we will always make Marriott our first, second and third choice. Since then I have recommended JW Marriott Panama to all my family and friends and social media. My family can’t wait to go back to this amazing/stunning hotel. Gisella left us with a life lasting experience that we will never forget. Marriott should be proud to have her as part of the team. We consider yourself-lucky that God placed her in our path. Please hire more people like Gisella and promote her. We immediately felt at ease after arriving at the hotel. We can clearly see the entire staff went through an intensive upscale training. They are friendly, helpful, courteous, emphatic, professionals, and knowledgeable. I have to give credit to Abdiel Gonzales for his amazing service. He is extremely professional while maintaining a friendly conversation. Kudos as well to the entire front desk and management specially David Cordoba for making everything so smooth. Special shout out to Cristian Duarte in the valet team. My brother’s wife left/forgot her iphone 13 PRO Max in the car and Cristian found it and returned it to us. This was priceless to us. Can you imagine the headache of replacing a phone abroad? Thank you Christian. This is now our family's favorite hotel in the whole world thanks to Gisella.…
The public areas are nice, but the rooms are extremely dated. Water pressure was low and yet the shower overflowed into the rest of the room because the drain was even slower. When we complained we were told to take shorter showers. The rooms floor tiles were cracked in several places and the art work inexpensive and crooked. Room service was good for breakfast but otherwise mediocre. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Nice location. Room with a balcony overlooking the water. Beds were comfortable. We did not eat at the restaurant (late arrival) however exit the main building entrance next door is a casino. Enter the casino and head to the 66th floor bar with a panoramic view of Panama City. One star removed for breakfast buffet which was extremely overpriced for what was offered. Coffee was very watery. Staff kept our bags until late afternoon so we were able to explore the city. Would recommend this hotel.
Everything about our stay was excellent. I'd highly recommend choosing this property. The hotel is centrally located in a nice area. Ubers were abundant so getting around from the hotel was easy and convenient and renting a car was not necessary. The elevators are very fast and plentiful so we didn't have to wait long ever. Check-in is on the 14th floor and was fast and efficient. The front desk staff were all very friendly and went above and beyond to take great care of us. I find the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel are the people working there and the employees at this hotel are a great group of people that really make the hotel great. They take good care of their Marriott elite members! As a Marriott Titanium member we found elite recognition to be very good. Our SNA's cleared and the hotel went above and beyond with the upgrade. We had a lovely Grand Suite which was very spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The beds were comfortable and the shower and tub were quite good. The room had a nice balcony which we enjoyed sitting and watching the ocean from. Housekeeping did a good job of refreshing the room daily. We received a lovely welcome amenity and the hotel was most generous in sending cake and a bottle of wine for my wifes birthday. They also were great with getting a rollaway bed for my son. There's a club lounge with a nice spread in the morning and evening as well as drinks throughout the day and an excellent coffee machine too. There are 4 pools with plenty of seating which was nice and the pools were not overcrowded which made our pool visits very enjoyable. The hotel is connected to some shops with a little mini grocery and a casino. Across the street is a pharmacy as well, so if you forget something at home you should be able to buy it easily. There's a few malls close by for shopping too. Overall we had a great stay and look forward to visiting again in the future.…
This hotel has seen better days. We saw four different rooms, as a result of trying to get a room that did not smell of fried garlic and a promised upgrade. They were all different, and none were well-designed--and three of them smelled. A couple had non-functioning air conditioning. In the room we finally stayed in, there was rust on the table and peeling and chipped paint beside the desk. It was, well, not in the best of shape. The bedding was OK, not great--and the bed frame also had a lot of visible wear. The hotel's location is kind of bad--not near enough to things that you want to visit and not far enough from the rest of the city to make it feel like a resort. Breakfast was fine--again, not great. The Executive Lounge was OK, also not great, and often out of things to eat or drink. Dinner was significantly better, and there was excellent service and food. The pools are lovely, but I wouldn't choose this hotel just because of the pools. It is not a resort (nor does it advertise itself as one). The staff of the hotel was uniformly pleasant, and helpful--but I wouldn't pick this hotel again all things considered, unless there is a major refurbishment of the rooms.…
The JW Panama City is located in a very exclusive area of the city among many high rise buildings and gated communities. The hotel is in a very tall (72 stories) residential building but the hotel goes as high as the 35th floor. It is in the same building as a large casino and a rooftop lounge (66th floor) though they are accessed through a separate entrance. We were upgraded to a corner suite on the 31st floor (Titanium status) which was large and was surrounded by windows. Do to such abundant light it was very easy to spot that some areas had been poorly dusted. My wife felt that the mattress was saggy and there was a light (by the desk) that would occasionally flicker on for a split second once all lights were off which was a bit unsettling the first time (only happened about 4 times in 2 nights). We enjoyed the executive lounge. Breakfast and hors d'oeuvres were quite good though alcoholic beverages were not included. The pool area was very nice and had a great view of the water and Costa del Este across the bay. The hotel is located in a beautiful area but unfortunately there are not many restaurants or bars within a reasonable walking distance (15 minutes). We used Uber to go just about anywhere and it was inexpensive and fast. There are a couple of supermarkets and cafes nearby. The area seems very safe and you can go out for a walk without any problems but most of what you see are nice buildings. About 10 minutes walking you can find Pacific Mall. We did not go there while staying at the JW but saw it on the way out after checking out.…
The city has incredible restaurants and many landmarks. I do recommend visiting the New York Zipline Canopy Tours at Hunter Mountain & Legoland. Your kids will love it. Make sure you have plenty of sunblock and water with you.
We just finished a three-night stay and really liked it. The views from the room and pool area were amazing. The staff was excellent and if you are fortunate enough to have Executive Lounge access, I bet you'll love the breakfast. We also found the staff to be very helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It's not near many tourist destinations but Uber is very easy to manage in Panama City.
Good hotel with good location, however this is some thing you don't expect from JW Mariort . They can make you sign hidden fees without expiations. you will be be surprise to see those charges and question and they will show you your signature. they should advertise and explain those hidden charges which could be more then $100.
