I went to Panama for my birthday, it was a great relaxing trip. This hotel is quiet and the staff are great. I relaxed in the hot tub and the spa was very accommodating fitting me in at the last minute.
We would give this hotel 10 stars if we could- fantastic experience all the way around! Each staff member was super friendly and welcoming and truly happy that you were there. The doorman, front desk, housekeeping, pool bar staff and breakfast workers all were wonderful! The breakfast buffet is not one to miss- fresh flowers on the tables, coffee, tea, juices, tons of fruit, breads, yogurts, made to order omelettes, hot dishes , cereals , granolas - you name it was there and everyone was pleasant to help ! Room was clean and nice- plenty of towels and bottles of water to drink. Hotel was happy to store our bags even before we checked in while we were on an excursion. Upon arrival several days after dropping our bags they knew our names as soon as we arrived! Staff had great recommendations of a few places within walking distance of the hotel which were very good. We loved this hotel and plan to stay again next time we visit Panama City.. Do not hesitate to book a room here - you will not regret it - we loved it!!!…
Not quite the Waldorf Experience we expected. People were nice, place was nice at one time, but tired. They are more in tune with the Cruise Ship travelers than the ones that had extended stay which was us. Didn't seem like there was much of a vibe there.
First off, Panama is a hidden gem and should be on everyone's bucket list. The Waldorf was a great choice in Panama City. The paella was excellent, the rooms opulent and comfortable. Our balcony was big enough to accommodate a 50 people (but we kept it to two). Helpful staff, standard Panamanian warmth and welcome. Nice pool and great bevies.
The hotel is wonderful, staff is great, especially Oliver...The bike/walk trail is across the street..( a busy highway) but they have walkways...The rooms were great..the beds were great... Breakfast is unbelievable...one of the best I've seen & I've seen a lot!!
As it was my first time to Panama City I chose a smaller hotel in a central location. The Waldorf was perfect. The staff are very friendly and attentive. They work extremely hard to make your stay perfect. Our room was spotless at all times and completely stocked a couple times daily with Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries, coffee and tea, water etc. The lobby and pool are very well kept with inviting decor and gave the vibe of a small boutique style hotel. Several dining options are available within walking distance. There is also a small market across the street where you can purchase beer, wine, snacks, amazing cheeses etc. The breakfast at the hotel had a great selection for breakfast with a beautiful terrace to enjoy the Panama City skyline. The service we received at breakfast was incredible. The staff not only provided fantastic personalized service but gave us travel tips and useful advice on navigating the city. Dailin Morales, Rollizo, and William made sure we felt welcome and we truly appreciated the five star treatment. Looking forward to returning soon!…
This hotel is more than fine. The logic behind the three-star rating is that the Waldorf brand comes with certain expectations, and unfortunately, they were not met. The hotel itself is satisfactory, if not a little behind current tech trends. The location is convenient for getting to places, but there is not a lot around to walk to. The breakfast buffet in the morning was quite nice, and I recommend sitting outside if you can grab a spot. Hotel staff were amazing 96% of the time. The only time we had an issue with staff was when a kid was celebrating her birthday during breakfast, all of the staff was attending to the child and no one was addressing the growing line to eat breakfast. A staff member told the host that people were waiting, and the host just brushed her off - not a good impression. The hotel has a small pool, but I found it to be quite nice. Biggest issue with the hotel is that there are only two elevators to access guest rooms, and of course one stopped working so that there was only one elevator servicing all the guest. Also, apparently not every room has robes, somehow you have to pay a premium for them.…
We enjoyed our stay! The staff was fantastic, especially William Smith (breakfast wait staff), Zuriyth (front desk), and Oliver (bellman). The overall atmosphere was welcoming and professional. We look forward to our next stay.
This is a nice hotel with great service & very convenient location. There are several restaurants on-site & in the area; there is also a convenience store across the street & a small boutique specialty grocery store (with wine, spirits, etc.) down the block. Be aware, though, that it is an older building, which can feel a bit tired in some aspects, although there clearly have been some renovations done. The pool area is nice & shaded, although seating was a bit limited the day we were there (New Year’s Eve). The best part of this hotel is the staff. Everyone was so wonderful & seemed very invested in ensuring we were content. Our stay wasn’t as nice as it might have been, however, as water started leaking into the bathroom from the floor above at about 9:30pm, which required us to move rooms that night. We were told that it was because of an issue which had occurred earlier in the day that was reoccurring, which made us wonder why we had been placed in that room to begin with as opposed to another. The all star staff were to the rescue, though - Carlos at the front desk addressed the room move swiftly and was very apologetic; his customer service was 5 star.…
Overall enjoyable stay but not what I’d associate with the Waldorf Astoria brand. The building feels tired. When we checked in we weren’t told that the pool would be closed the following day for maintenance nor were we informed that a large corporate function would be held the following night that was loud and kept me awake between 11 & 1am because our room was about 5 floors above the terrace that the ballroom opened out on - both of which I would expect a heads up on upon check in. In the end, the pool closure wasn’t a big deal - we walked down the street to their Hilton sister hotel to use their pool which had a beautiful pool deck that overlooked the ocean. The breakfast buffet had a lot of delicious offerings including a gluten free baked good section and the service was excellent. Out of convenience, we are there both mornings. The hotel is about a 45 min to an hour walk from the old town of Casco Viejo and the walk there for dinner in the evening, along the waterfront is lovely. An Uber back to the hotel was reasonable at around $6. The rooms were comfortable but they missed a couple of small things that always bother me in premium brand hotels like this one - When I book a room for two people, there should be two robes, not one. When a Nespresso machine is the coffee option, there should be two pods, not one. My sister had the same issue in her room that she paid extra for a third person - There were only two of everything so she had to call housekeeping a number of times. Overall, it was a nice stay with friendly and helpful employees.…
