The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. However, the only reason we stayed here was because our touring company uses this hotel so we decided to stay an extra day before the tour started. The front desk did recommend a few near-by restaurants, and the one we chose, Casa del Marisco, was excellent. The staff also suggested we take Uber rather than a taxi which worked out fine. They also made the reservations for us and made sure we understood the dress code since we certainly didn't want to show up in shorts to such a nice restaurant. The front desk also recommended a near-by barber for my husband, and he was very pleased with the service there. I knew the pool would be small based on the photos, but it was still a big disappointment. Perhaps I'm spoiled as I live in FL and have a lovely community pool. In any event, if this is important to you, especially with the Panama heat, this will definitely be a disappointment. The breakfasts were good, but one night we decided to eat at the restaurant and had a very mediocre meal: I've never had a Caesar salad served in this manner -- practically the whole romaine lettuce head. While the chicken was tasty, there was way too much lettuce -- I should have asked for another plate and cut off 1/2 of the head. There was also a loud party taking place, and since there was no separation from the rest of the guests, it was extremely loud for the rest of the restaurant clients. Overall the rooms were a good size and comfortable. The bathroom with its separate shower was nice, good water pressure, immediate hot water, usual nice toiletries. Room lighting could be improved. I also had to search for a plug for my CPAP machine. Had to eventually unplug the clock but fiddle with the connections and then couldn't figure out how to restart the clock. Told the front desk, and they sent someone to take care of the situation. …
The staff was the BEST!! Especially Karla.... Totally full service to help you with any need. The food and drinks were amazing as well. They have a gym and swimming pool on the 4th floor along with a sitting patio to enjoy some fresh air or evening lights.
We stayed 6 nights at Bristol and just got back Jan. 21st. The hotel lobby, rooms, people, and food were top notch. Special "hello" to Juan (who knows everything), Gabriel (up front leader), and Danay (restaurant star). They made the stay so special. Nothing bad to say. All good !
We spent several days at Bristol when we recently visited Panama. The friendly service from the staff throughout the premises made the stay a memorable pleasure. We especially appreciated the restaurant with a wide variety on the menu and the view from the spa on the top floor. The spa I relatively small but has a steam sauna showers and a relaxing lounge room to enjoy the view. The valley parking and the in-house garage was also convenient. The gym was ok but we understand it is getting a facelift in the near future. The new management with Diego Lozano has made a big and positive impact already. We will return for sure.
Really pleased with the accommodation and the helpful attitude of the staff throughout our 11 night stay over Christmas. The room size was generous and the bathroom exceptionally so. The hotel is well positioned for the City centre area and located in the financial district.
One of best hotel experiences I've ever had! The Bristol is luxurious without being pretentious. Spacious, clean rooms -- good beds and showers -- great bathrobes(I bought one to take home!) -- all at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly, and the front desk staff are fluent in English. They greeted us with bottles of water and wet facecloths for our perspiring foreheads. The hotel restaurant, Sal Si Puedes, was on a par with upscale restaurants in the Bay Area for dinner. They serve a terrific breakfast buffet that is just $15 if ordered when you check in, and offers a wide range of foods including eggs & omelettes, bacon & sausage, Panamanian specialties, fruits, veggies, pastries, and smoked salmon. There is also a very nice bar on the first floor -- try their Ancon Hill rum drink. Location: The hotel is NOT near the tourist sites of the Casco Viejo or the Canal Zone but by Uber is just about a $4 (ten minute) ride away from Casco. Easy to get to Casco for dinner and back. The neighborhood does not have a lot of scenic "color", but there are cafes and restaurants (plus drugstore, other hotels etc.) within a couple of blocks. …
Top Hotel to stay in Panama. The service is 5 stars and the location is the best. Good help from the receptionist to chose a restaurant. The best is the breakfast. We travel a lot and we found in the Bristol hotel one of the best breakfast ever.
Fantastic hotel with very friendly and attentive staff, massive rooms, and delicious food. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the ocean front and the old town is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the old town. Absolutely loved my staff! Celebrated my birthday here and the staff surprised me with a cake and song during breakfast. Wonderful way to start a birthday! Did not have a chance to check out the bar downstairs, but seemed cool.
What a place. Thank you Bristol! Bristol should be a model example of what quality service and excellence is all about. From the doormen to the front office, room service, and restaurants. Go check out the relaxation lounge on floor 25, it will take your breath away.
Nice and clean. Good location. Helpful people. A number of restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast. But, they had the flattest pillows ever! No substance to the pillows, even when we stacked 3 of those. Talked to the reception a couple of times and they said that they did not have any other kind of pillows. Stayed there for 2 nights - did not sleep well either night. Everything else in the room was fine.
