We thought we had a great deal but upon arriving, our room was too small to even fit our modest luggage and two people. We requested a room large enough to fit our belongings and be able to walk to the door without tripping. We were told it would be an additional $120/night. Once we switched rooms, twice a day a terrible smell of sewage would seep from the drain the bathroom. We pleaded with them at the front desk to accommodate us with a more reasonable rate but they were unsympathetic. Often, the woman at the front desk just seemed annoyed to have to interact with us. Everything was up-charged. Breakfast was included but you have to pay extra for anything…even a glass of orange juice. Beware the Los Pasos. They are more interested in taking your money than providing a service. Very disappointing. I give them 2 stars instead of 1 because the beds are very comfy. A big plus!…
We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Very nice hotel, very well maintained, architecturally pleasing. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Checkin and checkout were very quick. Very good breakfast with huge portions. You will not go hungry. Nice room and bathroom and a jetted tub. Smell of stagnant water when activating the jets. Problems with humidity (towels) and mildew on the walls. Lots of hot water, however water pressure was weak. The candy on the pillow was a nice touch. Very quiet on our first night, which gave us a good feeling. The second night there was a reception on top of our room with people yelling, screaming, dancing, foot stomping and making a lot of noise. The noise went on till midnight and the experience was an evening from hell. It made for a very short night. The next evening had music till nine, with guests still partying till ten. The morning saw a breakfast/prayer meeting at seven next door. The wedding the same night started to quiet down at ten with guests leaving at eleven. Staff can be expected to keep the noise down at seven even if they get everything ready. It seems strange that the hotel manager/operator was unaware that a huge reception would not cause an inconvenience for guests in the room below the event. One might expect some courtesy to advise guests and even offer a drink as compensation. There was absolutely no acknowledgement, we understand that these events are moneymakers for the hotel and that the needs of guests are less important, but we were not impressed. Once again a very good hotel, but bring ear plugs.…
Beautiful historic hotel with amazing helpful service from checkin to checkout. Special requests were easily accommodated; as we needed free breakfast (yum!) delivered to room after running out of time from early morning walk, as well as arranging and rescheduling car for airport, we felt like VIPs! The fresh coconut pina coladas for sunset on the rooftop overlooking Fuego’s eruption will forever be a favorite memory for all. I would highly recommend staying here and with friends, family or a special loved one.
I travel extensively and of all the hotels I stayed this was by far the friendliest service I have ever had. Everyone at the hotel went out of their way to ensure that we were satisfied with the service. We loved having breakfast or lunch at their restaurant terraces, overlooking the wonderful views of La Antigua, the Volcan de Agua and Volcan de Fuego. The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. My room was a double bed suite with a large window overlooking one of their well-kept gardens (see picture). They keep it was pristine, with free aromatherapy and sweets daily. I also love the robes and slippers they provide. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s all they advertise and more. At the end of my week, it felt like I was leaving friends or family. A special thanks to the wonderful restaurant team: Zolin Padilla, Alfredo Ordonez, Alejandra Garcia, Manuel Celada, and Lester Torre. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful place!…
Magnificent in every way…! Super attentive staff, the room and bathroom were spectacular, the hotel gardens, courtyards and passageways are gorgeous, beautiful roof terrace for dining or relaxing, delicious full breakfast included. We enjoyed the spa circuit ans massages too, it was very enjoyable experience. A 10+ boutique hotel and spa, we highly recommend Los Pasos!
It is impossible to overstate how wonderful our stay was at Los Pasos! The room was spotlessly clean, the location was ideal (close enough to walk to the central park area, but far enough that it was quiet), the decor is so pretty, the breakfasts are delicious and the staff makes you feel like family!! They were incredibly eager to help in any way possible. They even helped us order a pizza in for delivery when we couldn't figure out how to do it online. They took a personal interest in our travel plans (we were there for a service/mission trip) and were incredibly warm and friendly. We went from Los Pasos out to a "fancy" hotel in Panajachel and all of us wished we were back at Los Pasos. In the words of my son, "Even though [fancy hotel name] has the views and pretty gardens, I would rather be back at Los Pasos. There I felt like we were part of their family."…
Check in was seamless, the room wasn’t quite ready when I arrived but they got it ready quickly. Front desk staff and all hotel staff was super nice and efficient. Great recommendations and very willing to help. Excellent customer service and will 100% return no questions asked. The room was beautifully appointed and the grounds are lush and so incredibly calming. There isn’t a corner in the hotel you wouldn’t want to sit and just soak up The view in.
Beautiful hotel very peaceful love the feeling of being in Antigua and having a clean and quiet place to stay. The service and employees is great! Definitely a place I would stay again. The spa is awesome they were a life saver.
We can not recommend a stay with Los Pasos enough! What and excellent experience this stay has been! The accommodations sort of speak for themselves in their 4 star comfort and elegance, superb location to restaurants, ruins, and cultural sites, and premier terraces for dining and drinks, but THE STAFF here is where the true magic shines brightest! EVERYBODY; management, housekeeping, wait/kitchen staff, maintenance, front desk have been so sweet, friendly, helpful, kind, and most of all, sincere in every one of our conversations and interactions that we are sad to see our 11 day trip come to an end! Honestly, they made our time here exponentially more memorable. Thank you Los Pasos, we will see you again! - Blakeley & Doug p.s - the attached photos are taken atop one of the 3 roof top terraces…what a spectacular view!…
Lovely building every corner created in different colorful tasteful design, filled with flowers and wonderful places to have coffee, breakfast, dinner or just relax. Rooms are clean, simple, yet with all the necessary amenities. Only downfall is that it was rather hot and I think a ceiling fan is needed.
